Friend? Can I even consider him my "friend" now? Maybe an Internet friend is more suitable, since I've talked to him more online rather than in real life. Anyways, I don't know, my friend, let's call him J, is acting very very strange lately.
Masami (from TeamLiquid) also knows this person in real life. In fact we were best high school friends, along with two others. High school was seriously the best time of my life (until now) because everything we did was just so memorable and exciting.
Now, fast forward to college. J and I go to the same college along with one other friend, called S. Masami goes to NYU. The fifth friend, goes to University of Illinois Urbana. So S and I, being friends with J, ask him a lot to eat lunch/dinner with us since the more, the merrier, and we were good high school friends after all. At first he came with us, but as school went on, he keeps saying "I already ate" and eventually, aside from classes, does not come out at all.
Now, during winter break, we're like, oh yes, get J! I haven't seen him in forever.
However, during this one month break, we saw him...ONCE. And by once, I mean like two hours, beceause his mom wanted him inside by....8! 8 PM! Why? Because it's "late". Yes, his mom still controls his life, at the age of 18 when he is a college student.
Furthermore every time we ask online, he came up with the lamest excuses. Such include
-I have to help my dad
-I have to pick up something from someone
-I need to help my mom clean the bed sheets
-I can hang out, but I need to wait for my parents for money (they didn't come home, apparently, rofl)
-I need to help my mom cook
At this point masami and I are speechless. We come with something for him, EXCUSE OF THE DAY, EOTD as a joke 
Yesterday, we FINALLY met him, and he had to get home by 8 as usual. When we went to masami's house, all four of us insisted that he stay later. However he keeps saying, "No, I need to go home." His voice gets all like nervous and shit too. No joke.
Honestly, imo he's only making his mom look like bad with all those "stupid rules". It's BREAK FFS! Everyone I know goes out and comes back home late, but him, he doesn't even go OUTSIDE! Needs Vitamin D imo. Today was also my friends' birthday, but he didn't come out because his mom was pissed it was getting late (this was around 3:30 PM). As a joke, we told him we should hang out tomorrow at 7 AM, get bagels, and go fishing -_-
Something is going on...
Could he be playing WoW? DotA? Jacking off 8 times a day?
I seriously just want to go to his house and see what's up.

that was somewhat of a joke, but you should ask him what's going on when u get to school (which I assume is soon), if his mother is running his life well he's at college, something is messed up

But there are some people that will like exaggerate things their parents want them to do to gain attention, maybe? Like, get you people's sympathy and stuff.

In all seriousness, maybe he's become antisocial, or is playing WoW (I know that my brother has raids from 8 PM to 12 AM a few nights a week. Have you tried confronting him and his excuses? You never know, he may give you the truth.

i have a friend like this. we used to play soccer every day in the summer, now WoW is taking over his life. he's pale now too.. kind of sad really.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
So this is our last day since most of us go back to school tomorrow or on Monday.
TODAY, WTF WTFW TF, he asks us to hang out. I'm speechless. Anyways, before we go pick him up (like 30 minutes before) he says he can't.
It's 6:30 and it's too late.
His mom said because he got a 3.7 for the semester his curfew is limited (BULLLLLLLLSHIT) and he had to read the newspaper and stuff......like what kind of lame ass excuse is that?
I don't know what to say and joke that if he got a 4.0 maybe his curfew will be extended to 11 PM! rofl
Now, there are four of us and we decide to go to his house and see what he's doing. I noticed that the light on his room is on! So he's home. Now we sneak around the house but due to snow it makes that annoying ass sound and we're trying to make little noise as possible. Finally we're near his window. One of my friend Mike jumps and then he starts laughing like crazy for no reason and we all start laughing but try to hold it in. That moment was priceless ^_______^
He said he saw the antisocial kid on the computer. It wasn't a game but he said it was a red/white message board(?) or something.
Then we ring his bell and his mom says "What" like in a cold voice. How rude is that?
Then we say we want to hang out and we're scared and think this might actually be the truth....=\ if it is how does a mom get stricter AFTER high school??
We talk to him for a minute and say bye.
