I don't know i qualify as one but carrying over from the president's election I've been following the news alot. I followed CNN almost religiously, and on the New York Times site I'll make several visits a day. The two sections that I keep up with the most are Sprorts and U.S.>Education.
One of the reasons that I read the news is that I'm afraid I'll miss something important or something that will change my life for the better. I think it's paranoia to a certain degree. I keep thinking there's this one magical article that's either written and published or will be published soon that will give me an epiphany that will solve all my problems( i have a few). It's sort of similar to guys who post on Teamliquid asking for a magic pill that will make them pro gamers. I'm sorta like that but on a larger scale.

I usually read the whole Financial Times like 3-4 times a week. Am I a news junkie? I think so, it eats a shitload of my time!

freshman year i took an intro international relations course
the professor would give us pop quizzes on major world events in lecture, so i had to check my firefox "latest headlines" tab every morning and look at what was going on around the world.
since then i've definitely slacked off a bit, but back then i feel like i really had a much better-than-average grasp on world events

I listen to NPR in the morning, and occasionally read the news off the internet. Besides that, most of the news I get is from TL.

I do a lot of news, so much that I have lost my own beliefs and only care for the excitement of political discourse

I read a lot of news, but avoid (American) politics if I can because it's pure bullshit/pandering.

I follow a ton of rss feeds on google reader. You'll find that the more you follow, the worse your signal to noise ratio is. I probably skim about 1k articles a day, and I think that I could get by (be less informed, have more free time) by reading only a hundred.
