I recently got the EXACT same message, but for Starcraft. I guess it happened when I tried to use Chaos after the 1.16.0 patch, saw it didn't work and logged off. I'm lucky my friend had an extra one lying around.

I was reading through the Battle.net forums and I found out that it'll be unbanned in 30 days since it's my first offense so it's no biggie; I barely play D2 anyway and making a new SC account isn't exactly hard

WoW and Starcraft don't even have similar gameplay. Why would Blizzard ban SC accounts to make people buy WoW?

Also, weren't most of the recent bans account bans, not IP or CD-Key bans? I thought you could make a new account just fine, but lost your old ones.

ERRRR WTF? The same thing happened to me on B.net and I have no fucking clue as to why I got banned myself.
The weird thing is that the cd key that I'm using is the same one that my brother uses. I gave that cd-key to my brother since I play on iccup and he doesn't. Yet, he doesn't get banned,W_T_F?
I'm dying for iccup to return..

I checked with Starcraft, since I use the same account name with Starcraft and D2. I assume if the account was closed when I tried logging on with SC then it'd be closed with D2 as well.
