Beat is very important in rap. When people casually listen to a rap song, the first thing they notice is the beat. It lays the foundation for the whole entire song's success. That is why there are so many critically acclaimed producers and DJs in the hiphop scene. It isn't just about the lyrics, and if you want pure rap poetry listen to Saul Williams. Otherwise, listen to these Korean songs that have been posted and consider that most of the enjoyment you get out of it is from the beat and flow. | ||

You are doing the exact same thing to me, I stated my opinion of the music which you then proceeded to flame me for because I said I judged it without understanding the language. I never said that my opinion is better than yours I merely said I have the right to enjoy music without understanding the language, and you shouldnt be all up on my ass about it. You came into this ball game at half time and started flaming me off a reply I made to clazzi. I really dont see anywhere that I said your opinion sucks or that mine is better even, I really dont think you should be berating me for enjoying music. The first thing you got all hot and bothered about was me calling the music crap because of the language, I never did that. Then you got all pissed because I said I can enjoy music just fine without understanding the lyrics, my opinion not yours. You then proceeded to FORCE your opinion on my stating that I was ignorant for not learning the lyrics of songs I enjoy. I fail to see where you get off telling me I dont enjoy music that I clearly do. You came into this whole thing without any idea of what my original post was stating or what it even meant. You took one statement which you found particularly offensive for some reason and took it to the level of flaming me for it. imo, id rather listen to the korean songs and not know wtf they are raping abt than listen to the mainstream US stuff abt gangs money and girls. beat wise i think the korean songs posted here and wayne's beats are kinda equal but one is better than the other depending on the mood ure in but the lyrics just plain makes it shit thus posted korean rap posted here>wayne/souljah boi | ||

The original 3 songs are aight! I definitely appreciate the post for helping me expand my mind about korean hip hop. Korean rap better than American rap! That won't happen in our life times. But then again..Our president is Black! Korean hip hop is nice to listen to for this one reason....every word can be 1 syllable. You can do alot with the word play. But realisticaly...most of the music is borrowed from american hip hop. Society in korea at the moment won't allow korean lyrics to be deeper than american hiphop. That's just not possible. I could get into this but I wont... If you can really understand both cultures to a point where you can compare and contrast them both...You would understand that socially speaking, Koreans aren'tas open minded and exposed to enough ideas as we are in america. I will say this tho...Korean hip hop with everything else koreans try hard to do, have vastly improved in such a short amount of time. Who knows what 10 years may bring. | ||
