All right, listen up you fuckers. I'm sick of putting up with this shit. I used to like the blogs section of teamliquid. Now you've gone and made it your personal shithole. I may be exaggerating a bit. The blog section isn't all bad. People still post poems, creative stories, interesting tidbits, but now there are a few things that we see all too goddamn often. But then somehow, somewhere, it became okay to post about homework problems. And now it's a fad to post about your failures with women.
You know what your blog says to me? - You're too lazy to type out more than a few sentences.
- You are too stupid to understand the complicated Google interface, or you just don't understand the concept of search engines.
- You're so self-centered that you write pages upon pages about your absence of a love life and you actually expect people to be sympathetic.
- You are unwilling to read your course textbook, and will go to great lengths to avoid so much as looking at it.
- Your are unable to find any of the keys on the keyboard corresponding to punctuation marks.
- You think whatever inane shit you have to say is important enough that it deserves a new topic on the subject.
- You won't shut up and stop whining.

You know why we're going here? It's because you think the blog section is your personal shithole. You think that just one more bad blog won't hurt it any more than the blog section is already hurting. You think that the forum rules don't apply to the blog section, because it's more casual. It's only more casual because you make it that way.
Once upon a time, the blogs section was great. In the golden days of blogs, before Plexa was made staff, when crazie-penguin updated his blog once a day, a blog had meaning. Blogs weren't always one or two sentences pleas for help that would be better solved with a real search engine (or yahoo answers). Blogs used to be like the rest of the forum.
But it's not like that now. Now, we have to search for the gems among the filth. But no more I say! I won't stand for it! Take back the blogs section! Make your own blogs, and make them worthy of the name! Don't be satisfied with 3 sentence OP's, and don't encourage them! If the OP is unworthy, do not respond!
Take back the blogs!

I find this OP worthy, and therefore, I am responding.
Maybe I'm just too lazy to care, but I really don't mind the homework blogs and the girl blogs. *shrugs*
On the other hand, complacency never improves anything, so everyone on TeamLiquid needs to read this OP and do their part to take back the blogs!

Other than that, you are certainly right, the blog quality has been going down lately. This used to be the best section, now its barely above general.

I couldn't agree with the OP more. In the past month or so especially, the blogs section has been absolutely awful. I fully support this initiative!

The best way to take back blogs is to post your own good blogs. If you want moderation for the really crappy blogs that keep pushing everything down, take it to website feedback.
PS: IMO Crazie-Penguins blogs were complete shit.

Goes for random pictures of Asian women too. The only one I thought was hilarious was the plaid bikini, the rest were generic crap that anyone could find a million of the same in a matter of seconds. His daily blog just pushed down good blogs. If he wants to do that, he should get a livejournal, or ask TL to make the generic "babes" thread.

But I really dislike the blogs that consist of 6-8 sentences.

TL has always, always had a lot of girl and homework threads (emphasis on the girls). A couple of years ago they were in general and with the introduction of the blogs they moved there.
A lot of people who visit this site obviosuly wants to read about people lack of love life considering the amount of responses such threads usually get. "The girl thing didn't work out" Mishras huge story and Fausts "prom date needed" threads all get good feedback.
I don't understand why it is so difficult to just ignore threads you don't want to read, not only that but every single thread on TL except for possibly the ones in the tournament/ FE and broodwar sections can be discarded with "Use google" or "There are sites dedicated to discussions about this, go there"
Of course mods should do what they think is best for the site and if that includes banning discussion on anything that is not random pictures or broodwar then so be it. But I can help but belive that you are part of a quite vocal minority.

Blogs aren't to impress people.
If you think people are supposed to give more effort in their blog topics/ideas to appease the crowd of Teamliquid then that is pretty sad. However I'm not suggesting people can do whatever they want. It is common sense that when you post a blog it has to have appropriate content. But if you are complaining about people posting girl or computer blogs because "it trashes up the blog section"...

I wonder if all the people agreeing with this topic really read it or just don't know what a blog is.
There is a General forum up there for non-blogging needs. Blogs forum is not General's bitch forum.
