That's pretty harsh, haha... There's nothing worse than girls threads. Homework threads are tolerable, because at least someone is getting something out of it. Girls threads just annoy me to death. They belong here: http://www.emo-corner.com/forums/

Really though, if people were responsible and paid attention in class and asked for help there then it wouldn't have to come to this in the first place. EDIT: And yeah the girls thread are really annoying too, of course you can't ask your "teacher" or anything like with homework about girls but TL isn't exactly the best place to come seeking girl help, I mean come on, it's a gaming website. Talk to your friends or something, I'm sure any advice they give is just as good if not better than random strangers on a gaming website.

You argued against the opposite point I made in your first two sentences. I didn't downplay iccup threads. I'm all for making a Homework thread, but I see nothing wrong with the system in place.

shit yo you're a bigger piece of shit than debra

Ahh I misread the iCCup part, sorry haha. But blogs wouldn't have to be limited to iCCup at all. Looking at recent blogs topics I see plenty of other topics than iCCup that people enjoy reading and posting in: [G]Another Easy Recipe For Lunch/Dinner Exclamation mark or exclamation point? TL Book Club: First Book = 1984 etc

Fair enough. Haha. Homework thread or homework blogs, I remain indifferent on the method of posting homework questions, but I don't see the need to ban them from TL.

I don't think there are many people who come on to TL to help others with homework when they are usually posting that thread because: a) they want pity because of their workload/hard assignments b) they were too lazy to go in and ask their prof/teacher c) just because they can Now don't get me wrong, I like advice threads and such in the blog forums but when I constantly see homework help threads it angers me too.. If you really think that TL is nothing more than a StarCraft site then you need to take a look around. TL is alot more than a StarCraft site we are one of the strongest gaming communities there is, imo the strongest. Even though SC is the main focus of this site many other things come up all the time and when a user needs help with their homework they can post it in the blog section, that is what its meant for, random posts that dont pertain to the rest of the site.

That's nice and all, I just wish there was like some little box we could uncheck or something that excludes homework threads in the blogs cause TBH I haven't been able to help a single person that posts a hw thread. I know it's not causing any harm but it just seems kind of cluttery sometimes, which is why I said it would be nice if there was 1 single "Physics help" thread, and 1 "Calculus help" thread, etc.

Hell yes, about time.

People asking homework questions is inevitable.
After all, team liquid.net is the basis of all knowledge
|
I view Teamliquid as way more than just a Starcraft site. It's just a general site for people sharing interests in Starcraft, and therefore sharing the same qualities that make one like SC, to just chill together. Why should it be confined to SC-only talk?
|
If you don't like it then just don't click the link to the thread ">.<" But I know what you mean, they can get annoying but don't let it get to you =b It's like watching something on TV, if you don't like it, flip the channel XD

hahaha im gonna get 4 pooled by my test.. im totally gonna start saying that now
i actually like the review on the hw blogs lol

I don't really mind them if there aren't too many. It's not like you have to answer the question just because it's there I think when people do answer they have fun doing it.
|
Oh my God, the irony is FUCKING DELICIOUS. If I could see and drink the OP's e-tears I would do so.
Nothing's wrong with homework threads as long as they show effort that you tried, maybe Yahoo Answers had nobody who could answer it at that time.
IMO, if you're gonna make a homework thread, read Chill's Strategy Forum guidelines.

Jesus christ, it pisses me off when people start going, "oh Noes, differentiate this for me cuz I are newb and I will get 4 pooled by my test because I'm getting people to do my homework instead of doing it myself because I can't macro cuz I play terran and my friend plays toss and he's so imba cuz toss micro so ez and omg...!!1!11!"
It's called a textbook. If you don't get a problem, read the fucking textbook. If you don't get it. READ THE DAMN THING AGAIN. How hard is it to spend some time reading your textbook.
or you could just post up a jpeg, get micronesia to micro those variables, and pretend you understand everything.
