[H]Lasix for my dog

My dog has congestive heart failure and the vet recommended that we get Lasix (people use it but with smaller dosages it works well with animals). I did some research and read up on the prices and for the price/effect it seems the best option.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this for their pets. The main side effects seemed to only be more frequent urination and drinking of more water and he'll have to take a potassium supplement but overall it seems like a really good option, possibly the best for him.

heart failure sounds like hes going to die so either a dead dog or a higher water bill you decide

I don't have anything helpful to post but when I first read the title I thought you must care about your dog a lot to give him laser eye correction ^^

Dude, try medicines that save potassium in the body. Like Spironolactone containing drugs. Ask your vet about this option.

I am a veterinarian and I've noticed animals do feel much better when using drugs that do not expulse potassium.

Sad to read about the heart failure though.

ps: Furosemide aka Lasix is definitely not the best choice of action IMO.
