Perhaps if I date an Asian that isn't Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese, I might start learning something new, but really, the "culture" doesn't interest me as much as the girl herself, although the girl and her culture are rather intimately related to each other. For long term relationships, I do think that the closer the cultures are, the easier it is to establish. There are a variety of social shit that factors in. Once again, this doesn't really relate with 2nd+ gen Asians; they're more North American than anything else. "You're white so you wouldn't understand" isn't really true, and yeah I'm obviously not talking about 2nd+ generation girls living in the US because they basically have the same culture as me. I'm thinking first of all of the Korean girl I dated this summer who, even though she was older than me, I literally had to explain to her how a penis worked because she had never had any sort of sex ed. That's not me missing the subtleties of the culture, it's just her being really naive. | ||

When it comes to sex, my last Korean girlfriend knew everything inside out. She was one year younger than me. Sexual naivety depends tremendously on the individual girl. The subtleties I'm talking about are those subtle hints people give in conversation. There are some things that may be hard to pick up on and some things will just go right over your head because you didn't know to look out for it. There are some things that a girl might expect from you but you have absolutely no idea about it because you just never knew about it ever. | ||
