There are some cultural aspects that can't really be understood completely unless you're from the same culture; or at least a similar one. This only really counts for 1st gens and 1.5 gen Asians though. 2nd gens it depends, and some 1st gens are just make my head hurt. 1.5s are the best, at least for me. I have liked white girls before, and I had a short relationship with one white girl before, but I dunno. It just never really works out regardless of the intentions of both sides. Anyway, I really don't recommend non-Asians dating 1st gen Asians. There are too many things both sides won't fully understand about the other. | ||

But isn't it just a spice in the relationship when you can discover the other one's different culture? And my previous relationships ended BECAUSE I knew and understood all about the girl. I just reached the point where I didn't learn anything new and boredom arised. Shouldn't the different cultures just push this point towards the future? There will obviously be barriers at first, and I can see it right now, but am I right to assume that they might just reinforce a long term relationship ? | ||

It's a sign she's either lying that she didn't like him, or that she's prone to getting herself into trouble because she can't say no... Asian girls are people too... i'd say that the biggest thing is that asian culture places the group above the individual but in western culture, the individual is above the group. this really made problems for me because i'm the type of person who needs to do my own things, and i'm not used to always having her know where i am. in the US, i think this is just a preference thing and it's something you work out, but in asia, this is a really big no-no. | ||

I met actually quite a few chinease, and they are polite towards the most discussting people and sometimes even people that insult them... It took me almost the whole night to convince her to lift this barrier and make her say what she actually thinks. Believe me some girls are really like that, although very very scarce in the western culture.
