I am soooooooo nervous. I have it tomorrow! First time, I want to do it right on the first try.
I mean I get all the basics. Turning. I know that I need to make FULL stops when approaching the stop sign (behind that white line, of course). Also I need to like make sure (not overexagerrate) to let the instructor know that I am cautious by looking left, right , left (3 seconds) when I stop....
I have some questions:
1) When I parallel park, do I turn on the right signal right before I reverse to park?
2) When I do the 3-point/k-turn, should I signal right, then signal left, check to see any approaching traffic, then reverse?
3) What is the #1 thing I should be concerned besides parallel parking (which really isn't so hard)
4) Speed limit?

it's not an answer, it's like the stuff i should know when driving. i mean i'm just trying to perfect everything possible so that instructor does not fail me for the minor mistakes.
i am taking this road test in New Jersey, Lodi DMV

Rules differ from state to state/country to country so don't take anything at face value.
1)I believe so; honestly can't remember.
2) Signal right, do the turn, look both left, and right, reverse and look back while doing that, then you can go. I don't think you need to signal twice.
3) Make sure you're constantly using ALL your mirrors
4) Stay about 5mph under(er 5kph? >_>). If you're doing your test in an urban area, like side roads, you shouldn't even need to ride the gas that much. The car will accelerate natural to a nice enough pace.

dont worry so much about that stuff. as long as you dont make major mistakes, you can make a bunch of small errors.
i actually failed the test twice before i passed it. heres what happended to me:
1. going fine, asked to change lanes, guy next to me was going same speed, i sped up to pass instead of slowing down.
2. asked to make a left turn in a residential area, street was completely blind, sped up to make a turn before a car came.
so based on my mistakes i learned to just take your time. if it takes you a minute to make a safe left turn, its better to get marked down a few points than to fail the whole thing right then for being impatient.

Seriously. All CA requires is that you be able to back up within 2 ft of the curb for about 20 feet (within about 70 cm of the curb for about 8 meters)

Ahh yes, I took that damn thing like 5 years ago... Just don't do anything horribly stupid. Lots of minor errors are fine. Don't go over the speed limit whatsoever, and drive as defensively as possible. Check your mirrors often, too.
I don't recall using any signals for the parking sections... But they were done in a parking lot with cones, and not in an actual environment... It wouldn't HURT to use the signals though.

Unless I'm changing lanes or parallel parking I don't check really...=/
and yes, my parallel parking is done with CONES! So I guess I would signal.

I failed my road test today.
I have no license. It expired today.

SURE, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE BLINDSPOT WITHOUT GOING COMPLETELY OVER YOUR SHOULDER
BUT EXAGGERATE THAT FUCKING BLINDSPOT CHECK MOVEMENT
EXAGGERATE IT. 90 degrees + using pupils to see blindspot = NOT ENOUGH.
OVER THE SHOULDER- TURN BODY EVEN.
Fucking do everything perfect and do my blindspots but instructor tells me I didn't.
Fuck him up the ass. Next time i'll slap his face every time I blindspot check.
speed limit - school zones - blind spot checks - know where your hazard lights are - blink when doing anything that requires blinking. Parallel - you would blink towards the curb you're parking at obv.

yeah washington state has a pretty difficult drivers test.
seriously though, when you're doing lane changes make it REALLY REALLY obvious that you're doing headchecks.
same thing when you reach an intersection in a residential neighborhood, especially the ones with no stop signs.
idk if new jersey has this, but other than parallel parking, the hardest thing for me was reverse around a corner, where you had to be within like 5 feet of the corner and then straighten out and reverse straight for about 20 more feet.
speed limit -5 is fine if the speed limit is within the 30-45 mph range. if the speed limit is like 25, try and be at 25ish. if you go up to 26 or 27 on accident they won't care. 20 is way way too slow. (you can be dinged for overcautious driving, believe it or not.)

if a light turns yellow, dont speed up to go through it  . Just take it slow and cautious

Because LosingID: We don't drive around residential neighborhoods...in the NJ DMV, there is a road course designed for the examinees.
And what the fuck is a blindspot check?!!!!! what the hell O_O

Blindspot is the area to the side of your car where it's possible a car won't show up in your wing mirror or rear view mirror. Checking is what you do when you're gonna change lanes etc.
Make sure you don't roll backwards on your hill starts is the only advice I really have other than what's been offered.

oh we have a course designed for examinees as well. usually it covers one major road where the speed limit is around 45ish where you have to do lane changes, etc, and then also a residential neighborhood section.

*numbers here do not correspond to your already answered questions*
1) when you get out of the parking lot make sure you don't go off the urb into the street, it's instant phail.
2) slightly overexaggerate your motions when you change lines (looking over shoulder), wearing a cap definitely shows which way you are looking
3) if you go too slow you will fail, stay at speed limit (2 or 3 below is good)
4) don't be afraid about making tiny mistakes, you can afford 15 in my state
to be honest if you drove a lot with your parents over your 6 month permit time period you should do just fine as long as you are not nervous. Make sure you get a lot of sleep too since being half awake leads to more dumb mistakes

hahaha seriosuly where are you taking your test? when I took my driving test parallel parking was like not even mention. The closest thing was I had to drive in reverse several feet in the most straightest line possible.
Anywho, know what the speeds are for different zones
know where your lights, e-brake, and all the stuff inside the car is at.
Dont speed
Dont cross the double yellow line
Make sure to lookin all directions for on coming traffic
Use blinkers
When coming to a stop dont hit the brake to where the car jerks forward.Slow easy stops.
Dont accelerate hard
basically take your time with your test dont be to nervous it was easy and I passed my first time.
