TF2 is fun but very different from team fortress classic. Team fortress forever is a source mod that's a good remake. Check it out.

Shit, just look at this, it's all the proof you need. ![]() Your 1.6 buddies are.. not well-informed. http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ Hell, go look at Gotfrag's "prize money" section, there's still hundreds of thousands of dollars worldwide being poured into the game. Steam bugged the stats so that's only the USA's 1.6 stats whilst that's pretty much source being played over the world.. CS might be dying but source is dying just as quickly if not more so. Before steam decided to take the stats part down and then bug it... it was like CS 1.6 current players playing 300,000 whilst for source it was like 60,000. Then steam took 1.6 off the stats page then bugged it. It's actually worse than that because the Source numbers include bots, 1.6 numbers don't. Source was garbage from the beginning and still is. I would fucking love to play Sudden Attack in the US. ![]()

Here in North America, most of the big teams switched to Source after signing some deal with CGS. High-level 1.6 in North America is dead compared to what we had in 2002-2005. You can still find scrims easily though for CAL-o - CAL-m level.

RTCW: ET was a great multiplayer FPS, I'll agree with you on that. But CS is not utter crap, and neither is Quake Wars. CS is a great game, it has lasted so long with it's simple, yet deep gameplay. Quake Wars, on the other hand is extremely underrated because all the realism nubs expected slow gameplay. Instead it perfectly incorporated a fast-paced style of gameplay with a brilliant class system. If you want some new FPS, try: -CoD4 and CoD5 (when it's out) -Team Fortress 2 -Enemy Territory: Quake Wars -Warsow Of course, it depends if you like pubbing or not. If you are looking for a competitive team, just try to stick with CS, or go for CoD4, Quake Live, or Warsow.

- WCG - ESWC - WEG/E-Stars Seoul/WEM - Intel Extreme Masters - GameGune - Dreamhack CS 1.6 is sort of dead in countries like the United States, China, and Korea. Most of the American pro teams went to CGS, China is more into WC3/WoW/other now, and Korea is into StarCraft and Korean made FPS games. One thing that doesn't make sense is why do Koreans make so many FPS games that are pretty much the same? Sudden Attack, Special Force (American version for iiji is Soldier Front), Black Shot, A.V.A, Combat Arms, and now Counter-Strike: Online? Also Valve is known to put up fake stats of their games to show that there is almost an equal amount of CS 1.6 and CSS players, but that is false. Before Valve edited the game stats, CS 1.6 has at least 3x more players than CSS. Valve seriously needs to stop with the pointless updates to their games that causes you to either lag out or crash and they should fix CSS at least.

CS: Source is ok but not as good as the original. DOD:Source is in my opinion crap compared to the original Day of Defeat. TF2 though is awesome fun especially when you do competetive fighting 6v6s to 8v8s

As a 1.6 frequent Player (im sorry BW) i should know many public servers have been turnned down, that have actually been really kick ass with constant players comming in and out CS is still there, i mean its not "dead" there are still some servers I dont know about the proleague, i never watch CS in proleague TVs or such, i just play it with friends The new patch drops me 50% of the servers i join, Steam needs to seriously work on it
