I'm just posting this in response to the new ad up there^ I've heard of these survey sites before but I never had a chance to spend time on them yet..
Has anyone had any experience with these kinds of sites? Are they legit? How much time do you have to spend on it for it to be worth it?
Thanks.
P.S. POKER is not an acceptable answer ;D

TT actually works (I did it for awhile and got my money transferred to paypal).

I'm a member of a few survey sites, and have only earned about $60 in the year or so I've been a member of them. It's really not a bad way to earn an extra bit of money. I think my main problem is that I don't meet a whole lot of criteria, so I don't see many survey invites.
There really isn't a set amount of time to spend for it to be worth it. I'm not a member of Treasuretrooper, but all of the sites I am a member of, they send me email invites. Sometimes for surveys that will only get me an entry into a drawing for $25,000; I tend to skip these. And others that pay an average of $2-3. They only take 5-10 minutes, and I generally have nothing else to do, so it's worth it.
I'm a member of three survey sites. Surveysavvy - They were awesome at the beginning, made about $40 with them over a few months. Recently though, they've switched to contest rewards, so I don't bother with them.
ValuedOpinions - Been a member with these guys a few months, and currently have an account balance of $19. Problem is they only pay out in giftcards, with a minimum balance of $20. I haven't done a paid survey for them in about a month, so I'm stuck.
Surveyspot - I just requested a $15 check from these guys. Only been an active member for about two months. They'll send survey invites through email; both paying and contest entries. Sadly, you can't see a list of their surveys and choose. You go on their site, hit "take a survey" and it will show you on you can do. I usually just click my way through the screener of the non-paying ones, go back to the Take a survey page, and see if they have a paying one. If not, repeat the click through screener process of the non-paying ones, until I run into a paying one, or they don't have any more surveys available.
Found some of these sites here: http://www.surveypolice.com/rankings
They're not a bad way to earn a bit of money, and they tend to be legit. But don't think they'll pay all that much. It's really just something to do if you have some spare time. Some of the sites have pyramid like referral setups. You refer a friend, and get $1 for every survey he takes; .50 for every survey his referral takes. Surveysavvy and ValuedOpinions did this, I think. Not sure if they still do.

oo, care to share how much it was? Did it take a long time to do surveys and get paid?
So no fek, would you recommend it to a high schooler with no lunch money? $60 a year doesn't sound very appealing

Not much, about a dollar per survey (and it sometimes takes awhile). You have to know which ones are good etc. The reason I did it was for an online mmo and I didn't want to use my credit card, so I just got it to pay pal and payed with surveys (which is good for small amounts I guess). Most of the bigger offers require you to pay initially or something like that.

I checked out Treasuretrooper, and it seems a lot like Cashcrate.com.
I made $11 with them in a month, and it was easy enough. Just lots of clicking ads, and filling in all of my information. Being my honest self, I used my real cell number. That was a big mistake. Shortly after I did all of the offers, I was getting 4-5 calls a day, nonstop. Now I still get 1-2 a month.

okay I just did a survey, it took like 5 minutes and a lot of clicking NO to a bunch of offers. I put random fake information into the forms though, I should still get credit right?

You should. I know I started half-assing it on Cashcrate and I got credit for a lot of things.

Woot, I already have
Offer Earnings Due:$7.25
Awesome.
What do the pearls and gold coins and stuff do? o_O

I was browsing through the store. They have some different offers. Coolest one I saw was 8 pearls, and it made the next two people who sign up your referrals.
