Me and my girlfriend write notes to each other all the time, even though it's been like 4 months that we have been going out(I still sneak in notes and stuff in her pants/her house).

Its not that they are hotter than for example Czech Girls. Its the culture in Sweden, and I haven't realised the OP is from there. My swedish friends from Innebandy always tell me how distant people are over there, that you don't just say hi to strangers, shake hands too much and what not. And obviously that there is the probably highest ratio of one night stands/longer relationships in europe, because alcohol unleashes the lust hidden under the laid back attitude that is required during the day.
So girls don't get so much attention, but still they have to get more than the ugly ones. Its not like they would come to you and pull your warrior, but I think they would leave at least a little hint on the note, or try to approach you. He is a college student, so all of them should be out of puberty. And only non-hot girls, not mature girls, gay guys and Celebrities like Scarlett Johansson would not give him at least a little hint...

I think I can rule out girl #3. Sneaked at her handwriting today and it was all uneven and crooked looking.
Though I have to add another girl to the list who was ill most of this week but returned to class today. I think she's of malaysian decent; and pretty decent looking as well.
Lunch break right now, I'll continue to investigate this further in math class
