My roomate saw this while he was still in Cambodia so I guess it was kinda popular? It's from Japan obviously.
He doesn't remember the name or anything, all he remember is there's this kid who travels around and collect rocks. He can then fit the rock onto a hole in his sword located in the base of the blade. Different stones yield different powers. Say there's this red stone with chinese character fire on it n shit. Rocks are not really rocks but more like dragonball shaped gems or something.
In one instance the kid went into the black stone and had to fight the gate demon to get out...
One of the kid's favorite skill to use is, since you have a hole to put the stone in, when he's not putting a stone in, he put his fingers in it and he can spin the sword.
Other thing he remember is there's this really strong cow looking guy w/ the number 444 on his shirt...
Anyways if any of you know what this is please update me lol, I'm quite curious.
He said he saw it around 1998 but It should be made bit earlier and later translated into camboida.

Any more details? Was it old like the really old 80's anime cartoons or the first dragonball episodes.

I'm trying to find out, really hard though

Power Stone? That's the only anime I can think of with "Power" and "Stone" in its name

First of all this is clearly one of the weirdest animes I have read about. Second, why the hell do you want to watch that XD?!

I think it's Yaiba, I used to watch that a lot
EDIT: I'm sure it's Yaiba, I didn't read it all a first. It's old, has spiky kid hair, he does get balls with powers and shoves them in his sword, and he does shove his fingers in it and spin it fast.
I watched this when I was like 6-7, but a year or so again I watched some of it again

Yes, it's Yaiba. The show is basically a rip-off of Dragonball (which was insanely popular in Japan when this series was produced, around 92-93) except that the main character collects those gems for his sword instead of dragonballs to summon a dragon. I used to love this show when I was little.
