There were actually tadpoles in our old sandbox with water (though no sand) in it a few years ago. They were toads though, this area is rather dry. We actually added dechlorinated water to it because it would have evaporated, and that would have been messy. It was neat when 100 tiny toads started jumping out everywhere. GLHF
