Ok so I'm fucking pissed off right now.

Basically I ordered 3 books from Amazon on the 26th of July. I remember seeing the arrival date, and since I used super good checking, or whatever the fuck it is.

Ok so It's August 5th, and I still haven't got it. I wasn't really worrying since I thought it was gonna take a while, and I thought they used USPS.

They used UPS

I check my status, and it says IT WAS FUCKING DELIVERED.

How could of it been delivered. I asked my family if any packages came for me days ago. Nope nothing!

I know for a fact that you have to sign for the packages. and since I the person who ordered it, and paid for it didn't sign for it...

WTF! it says it was delivered, not left on my front lawn to be stolen. I know for a fact nobody would steal around here since I've left my front door open for 10 years, and I've never been robbed.

God! Why wasn't I on top of this? I was too busy with shit, but aw man.
What can they do? I tried calling my local UPS, but it's to late.

I tried filling a lost package form, but you need details from where it was mailed from. I HAVE NO IDEA!!!

My tracking number is
1ZA7810W0363927268

Oh man.

I'm not the type of guy that's gonna get ripped off.

Has this happened to anyone? Details on what to do.

Like I said I'm calling the first time tomorrow during their hours.

What if they say it's not their problem. What can I say?

EDIT:
The reason I sound so pissed is ,because I am.

I'm having family problems, gf problems, uni problems, and I can't even get my present I BOUGHT FOR MYSELF?

Fucking god =/

Final EDIT

Anyway. I called Amazon, and I don't regret it.

I talked to this nice lady who simply asked me for my account information. I told her my situation, and she arranged a new order of what I ordered to be sent to me with 2 day shipping.

Amazon definitely knows how to treat her customers. I'm glad I give them my business.

Thanks to those who told me to call Amazon.

I don't know for sure, but some guesses:

UPS may have a policy where they can show you your signature for the package if they marked it "delivered." Ask to see it.

"Super good checking" sounds like you're referring to some sort of insurance policy? Did you get any shipping insurance?

They don't have a 24 hour phone, or do they? I called got nothing, but "please call back tomorrow during hours etc.. etc.."

Like I said I tried filling a lost package claim, but it needs details of where it was shipped from. Since, I don't have the package I have no idea. I tried looking at my amazon confirmation e-mail, but all it has is the tracking number.

No it refers to the free shipping I got. If you order more than $25 worth of goods from Amazon(Amazon seller) you qualify for free shipping.

Try calling them, though in all likihood they simply made a mistake with their internal system in terms of scanning. If they cannot give you any detail on the present location of the books, then call Amazon to have them request for a lost item search, which would be a bit annoying. At some point or another both party will recognize that the parcel isn't where it is supposed to be, but it is probably going to take time.

The same thing happened to me before. What happened was that the UPS guy delivering it decided that he wanted to go home early that day, so he forged a signature saying that it had already been delivered. Luckily, UPS found out that the package was still in their inventory, and they delivered it to me the next day. Hopefully that guy got fired.

Hopefully this gets sorted out. but seriously. What amount of laziness?... You deliver packages, knock on doors, and get signatures.

iirc standard UPS procedure doesn't require signing for packages unless it's specified. you're probably thinking of FedEx.

your best luck is to call

You sure? All the UPS packages I received. They MADE ME sign for. I did, and they went on their way.

I believe the vendor chooses whether or not they want the client to sign on delivery. So if Amazon doesn't require signatures from UPS, you might be hooped. Definitely call both Amazon and UPS and find out what's up. If they give you the run around, immediately call your credit card company and file a chargeback. Your credit card company will be very helpful, I guarantee, since they are the ones who actually stand to lose your business.

That sounds like a possible explanation.

Honestly, I'd start with calling Amazon. For as much shit as people give about India support call centers, they really do a fantastic job imo. I've had three delivery failures by the mail carriers. First time Amazon sent another order, second they checked with the post office and found out they had sent it back to Amazon so they gave me the money back to do a new order, and the third time they connected me with the manager of the post office to figure out the best way for the gift recipient to pick it up.

Shit that sounds awesome. Do you know the ###? of Amazon. I tried filling a claim on Amazon, by clicking "Where's My Package", but got nothing besides shipping type of terms.

So from general experience should I call Amazon first, or should I call my local UPS first?

It say's it was supposedly delivered on the 30th of July. However, I did not sign, or see a UPS member that day. I told my family members if they signed for me, but they didn't, even then they would of given me my package when it came.

I don't work, so I'm always home.

Given the status, I'd call amazon, as the shipper they have more power to demand things for UPS to do anyway. You calling UPS will probably just get sympathetic but useless answers.

You call something you bought for yourself a present? That makes no sense. A present is when you give it to someone else.

That's not how you contact them generally. If it works, then great. Normally you go to Contact Us under the Help area. You put in your phone number and they call you when they open up.

Amazon are great about these things. I had a friend who spent $300 on a big dvd boxed set and they just left it outside his door and it got rained on. It wasn't the first time he'd had trouble with delivery so he phoned up amazon and said he hadn't gotten it and they said they'd ship another one with a different delivery company. He then sold me the replacement for half the price. :D

Basically they will always side with the customers because delivery companys are easy to find and can be replaced whereas customers being confident shopping online and spreading the good reputation of amazon is much more valuable.

This happened to me one time, same exact circumstances. It turned out that no one was here to receive the package and since they needed someone to sign for it they just held onto the package eventually sending it back 3 days later. I had to re-order it and get a refund for the last one.

My brother ordered a PS3 online, and it didn't show for a couple months. He got his money back, because the website (i forget which one) assumed that the PS3 was just stolen before it got to my brother. It did end up coming in the mail, because the mail service at the University of Alberta is real shitty at times. He got a PS3 for free

Majority of packages that go through UPS do not have to be signed, they simply drop it off at your house and scan it and theyre done.
