A laptop with 256 mb RAM and 50 gb hard drive isn't going to do you much good if you want to run Crysis amirite?

what u wanna look for is 1gb ram comps, those come real cheap, n there are ALWAYS deals on laptop memory upgrades.. i believe a 2 gb one is around.. 30-40 dollars. nowadays, laptops come in vista, i personally hate vista for taking up 1 gb ram by itself, so i would find a copy of xp and reisntall it to my liking. for space, u should be looking at around 200-300, unless u wanna put down another 100 bucks for an external, which is very nice n i recommend. now, for the graphics card, an importnat thing to note is that if u get an integrated graphics, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UPGRADE IT. i found this out the hard way. all those things that say intel graphic accelerator 2100/3100x or w/e, are integrated. so if u are looking to play some high end games or run some awesome video editing, look for those special deals that include a REAL laptop graphics card. however, i must warn that it costs more, so decide if its worth it for urself. ps1/gba/snes doesn't require a real graphics card, so u can enjoy all those games with integrated graphics. PS2 ont he other hand, requires a graphics card, how good a card will determine the fps. For screen sizes, 15.4 is the cheapest, but they dont usually come in HD, which would cost u a bit more. i really like the 17 inch better, but it add like.. 100-200 dollars on it, so i wouldn't go for those. now, i know lenovo allows u to make ur own laptop, and so does dell i believe, so u can check that stuff out n see what u like. but i recommend checking other sites for better deals on a laptop. patience required for this method.

CPU Guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=275056 GPU Guide http://www.notebookreview.com/dellCoupon.asp Dell Cupons Note about coupon usage usually it is best if you start with the configuration that is worst from them like the good configuration instead of great etc. The reason for this is that one usually doesn't get instant savings and coupons don't stack with instant savings. Also usually when you configure a notebook at dell's site if its the same model and configured the same it doesn't matter what you started with it will cost just about the same. Also check out all of the configures the offer for any series of notebook i learned that my insperon 1420 you can get a 7200 rpm hd if you started with the crappiest settings but you cant if you start with the best settings? Dell rips hard lol if you lucky get and use the XPS coupons but those usually are gone by 1 week.

Answer those questions and people will help you. US gets ridiculous discounts compared to Canada. If you know where to look, you can get a fully loaded XPS M1530 for < $1000 after EPP discount with stackable 25% off coupon or something like that. Personally, I'm looking into the Sager NP2096 from xoticpc.com (since powernotebook.com doesn't ship across the border. Decent gaming machine with acceptable battery life.
