reminds me of old asian grandmas, too.
on the plus side, it means morbidly obese people won't be offending my eyesight as much
on the minus side, i'm currently in a country without any sort of weight problems.

It's not so much a problem here (lot's of girls still wear the tight tight pants and the mini skirts) but I do know what you're talking about.

it's really a shame
even worse than the regular khaki bermuda short is the HIGH WAIST style
way to make a pretty girl look horrible

Yeah those shorts are really ugly and pointless. My gripe is at birthday parties girls wear ugly and non-slutty fashionable dresses and ugly high heeled shoes. There are hot dresses, but these are not them.
I think hot pants or a mini skirt and a tight, plain T-shirt instead of these complicated ugly baggy hippie shirts is the way to go.
