Did the first half of TEM on friday, the 2nd half will be done in the first half of this week. SEM... hopefully that damn thing gets its tip replaced soon b/c otherwise I'm fucked. I think we will end up borrowing my lab mate's reactor tube and seeing if we can use that to get proper readings, if so I'll be able to do the last run on monday and everythign should be alright, otherwise I may be screwed~ Will probably spend tomorrow revising and reorganizing the text - grammar and whatnot.  | ||

For example, I am working a biochem protein crystallography lab where we isolate protein from a certain bacteria and crystallize it and then do x-ray diffraction on it to obtain diffraction pattern data which we then process using a whole mess of computational programs to finally come up with the structure of the protein. What are you doing with your stuff? | ||

 I've only seen an SEM in operation before, but I'm more familiar with SPMs. Yay for fast. Or are SEMs easier to use than I've been lead to believe? | ||
