This is pretty much just a test run of fraps + audio recording, first time I've ever done this sort of thing.
The commentary is far from strategical, it's mostly just me idly talking while playing (I recorded while playing the game, not afterwards), and it sounds like I'm baked or something because I hate to mutter really quietly so my parents didn't think I was insane and talking to myself. I swear, I don't normally slur so much :p

I wasn't really going to post this because it's not exactly good in the commentary/gameplay department, and the aforementioned butchery of my voice, but it might entertain someone :p

On a side note I feel like a much more accomplished ZvZ player after watching this video, thank you.

hm i might start recording fp again, if you dont mind, could you take screens of the pertinent setting tabs to get it working with sc?
and quirks we shoud know? (ie in camtasia we need to start recording after game starts, and end it before game ends or else it craps up)

I wasn't really advocating or encouraging it, it was my first time doing this and I was trying to think of things to say, at which point my minerals got really high and I figured I'd 12hatch for giggles :p

I've seen several recent ZvZ games where one player 12 hatches, and even some where that player wins. Why is it bad? Not that I understand ZvZ at all, but I didn't know 12 hatch was "discouraged."

As iNcontrol puts it, "Modern ZvZ is in its most aggresive evolution yet". There are definitely maps and situations where 12 hatting is warranted though, such as when you're next to someone on python or sumfing like that.

But the only units we are allowed to build are drones, overlords, and queens to encourage broodling usage. And no static defenses

Fair enough, I assure you I don't actually think I'm very good at all, and he's started to rape me pretty steadily in ZvZ since; this was mostly a test-run of how the recording program functions on my computer while recording audio, ie. whether the lag was unbearable, sound quality was good etc. Like I said in the initial entry, I didn't really want to upload this but figured some people might find it funny or at least feel like more accomplished ZvZ players afterwards (TheSchwa sup?) :p

I used Fraps, like I stated initially. I don't think there were any settings I had to mess with; the default recording hotkey was F10 I believe, which fucked things up pretty badly when I went to change the latency/sound settings and didn't realize the recording had stopped.
If you minimize Starcraft (like I did in the FPVOD I tried to record directly after this one), the recording seems to stop or just turn into a big black screen for the rest of it. Don't hit that Windows key :p
