and LOL at Heroes2. i prefer heroes 3/4.

Serious Sam definitley owns. Part two and one are equally good imho. Part two has better graphics and part one gets the "part one bonus"

Altar's UFO series is fun as well, though nowhere near original.
HoMM, all of them, my favorite is 4, though there are a lot of haters who say 3 and 5 is better.

Transport Tycoon, quite addictive, gets repetetive too fast though
Quake 3 with friends and alcohol :D
Betrayal at Krondor (my favorite CRPG)
Gorky-17 (it was called something else in English..."Odium" or something...)
Incubation (the original is too easy though, the expansion is hard in a wrong, non-creative way)

It's like a fully updated to todays standards version of Streets of Rage. You go through an arcade like game beating up enemies. You have a small lifebar and it is possible to dodge every single attack with insane backhandsprings, sidesteps and head dodges.You can chain combos like no tomorrow. The game is so difficult and it's self moderated. Everytime you hit an enemy a level meter fills and everytime you get hit it drains. The levels are 1, 2, 3 and DIE. Once you hit die, you fucking die.
The story line itself is just a sort of fake western drama involving demons and your God hand and the Devil hand. It's the funnest game I've played for a console since I can remember. Unique and fresh. I got it for 10 dollars. Play it.

Body Harvest for the N64. You might say it's kinda story driven, but it's mostly hijacking vehicles (bikes, cars, airplanes, helicopters etc), shooting the shit out of aliens, running away from aliens, and touching things in the dark that giggle, only to find out after you turn the lights on that they were dead bodies. That said, it's not non-stop action, so it might not be what you're looking for, but it's a great game none the less.
