I was always pretty mediocre at StarCraft, but I'm a sponsored DotA player and figure I can give something back to the community. I am known by the nick "BigBlind" and have played for such teams as eMg, FD, and currently 50|Cal.
If you have any questions regarding the replays or DotA in general feel free to post them here, I'll update this with new replays pretty often, if you have a hero you'd like to see I'll make sure to save a replay with that hero if I play the game.
NEW April 12
50 versus 7State#1 Both teams run pretty normal heroes. The game was decently interesting and not long at all, half an hour.
50 versus 7State#2 Push Strat We ran the push strat we've been working on for a long time. Another <30 minute game. Should be entertaining for all.

50 versus gL One of the closest games I've ever played, goes over 90 minutes, has a rapier, and will be the best replay to come out of the Pride 10 Qualifier.
Razor If you're having trouble farming, or understanding when or where to farm, watch this one.
Warlock If you want to see how to dominate your lane with Warlock and keep that control for the whole game, give this a view.
Spectre If you want a long, pretty entertaining replay (at least at the end) involving big fights and lots of rebuys, watch this replay.
Pugna Highest average level of the replays I've posted so far, two of the higher level American teams, we run a push strat and there is a long crow chase between three members of DoP (I think all with daggers) and yours truly on the crow. They dominate the lanes, we dominate the pushes, see who prevails, etc.
QoP The biggest name out of any of my replays (with the notable exception of JollyJoker) - I solo middle against IndigoChildren aka Hit0mi, QOP v Puck, it's a pretty close matchup and he pulls a clutch play out of nowhere when ES ganks.

nice share, almost makes me want to pick up dota again

You played for eMg? Were you still in during the Ice and Fire thing in Chicago? The one MYM won. Lastly FD, did you join the first NA tournament on GGC? o.o

I played for eMg the "round" before the current eMg, I was eMg.BigBlind when the players were Orie (aka Yoda, aka BlowouT, aka Inspire), Richie (aka p00), Merc, and p33n (aka Yuchen), three of these players are on the current check six team.
I played for the Frag Dominant team during Fire in Ice in Chicago, I don't play with them anymore, but Cubswin, a player I'm currently a teammate of played with us.
Yes, I think I remember playing ENADC with FD.

Thanks for this, I'm a total noob at dota but consider learning the basics just so i can play with friends since they don't want to play sc after I started beating them. So here goes my first very basic question. Will ask more when i understand more. when last hitting and denying do you hold alt all the fucking time or is there an easier solution?
|
Ohhhh!
I'm sorry if I'm false but, didn't x6 disband not too long ago? They dropped out right before they were supposed to face someone I know in HTGN Pro, lucky them.
I was in the same group as FD in the first NA tournament GGC hosted, I was also one of the player organizers, the only one. ENADC is technically the second tournament. FD.Spit was the captain? Was this a wannabe team or was it real? We dropped out before we got to play, life came to play.
And to answer Supah's question, you don't have to ALWAYS hold onto it. I tend to press it to check hp, let go, press. When there is a creep almost dead then I hold it. No point in keeping the bar up when they're at full life. Although I do sometimes hold it for a prolonged period of time, it's not really bothering. Only time it gets annoying is when I'm like Tiny, and I fling my thumb back to it's original spot sometimes my finger goes on C instead of V, so when I press O+C I get craggy.

Most DotA players use some form of HP Viewing device, such as W3HPH or they have another program (warkeys for one) that does that for them.
Here's the program I used to use: [url blocked]
I say used to because I, and a minority of other players still use alt.

x6 disbanded a while ago, but just recently they picked up hi2u, a USWest based team.
Yeah, FD.Spit was the captain, that was the team I played for for a few months.
|
IMO having the hp bar on top at all times is annoying.
hi2u was the only decent clan on DXD, correct me if I'm wrong, this knowledge is from ages ago. Well all I remember is that x6 disbanded before HTGN Pro ended.
Who else here plays competitively?
|
I don't know who else plays competitively.
|
I used to, but no longer. I gave one of my teammates all our league spots that our team achieved together so he and his irl friends could give competitive dota a go.
JLIG Prophets: 2x seasons of CAL-IM, 1 season of CAL-I, HTGN-Pro season 1 playoffs, TGL Battle for Frozen throne Playoffs, Played in some MYM Prides but didn't get very far lost to good teams. I was team leader JLIG.Vicious
I still play tdas and ring for the team [ now known as 780 ] when they need a fifth. I'm devoting my competitive game time to CS:S for the time being.

New update with replay from MYM Pride 10, probably the best match of the entire qualifier.
50 versus gL
|
New Update with two matches from ENADC Groupstage.
50 versus 7State
