So should i play Terran or Zerg? That's a real hard question for me! it is sort of like a pendulum swinging back and forth non stop, some days feeling like terran is total sh*t and some other days feeling like zerg is sh*t. Right now, i'm straight in the middle, not knowing which one to play, and stick to.
When i started playing StarCraft almost a year ago, i started with the Terran race because the first rep i saw was one of NaDa, so i stuck to them and loved them for a while. Until sAviOr arrived to my view, and i saw he was the dominator! So i switched to Zerg and started playing on iCCup to test my skills. i played well over 200 games with zerg with a poor win ratio of like 30% and me being D+.
But now that he's been slumping real bad, the thought of switching back has come into my mind. Flash dominating the current scene followed by the powerful JaeDong make it even harder to stick to one of them, as they seem almost invincible.
i like Zerg because of the lack there is for the need to be constantly building stuctures (overlords), because of their simplicity, mass numbers and intimidating look. They have map control most of the time and are very unpredictable.
Yet they are very weak and thus need to tech quickly. Thanks to this, Zerg also doesn't have any good all-in rushes besides the famous 4pool build.
Not saying that i like cheesing, but just something to notice.
i like Terran because they are very, very defensive early and mid game, and the chances of you being killed very early are drastically lower than compared to Zerg. i like them also for the fact that they have to apply two different strategies for every MU they play (m&m zerg, tank vult vs toss), and thus their unit variety is very wide, unlike Protoss.
Talking about Protoss, don't even mention them in this blog since i would never, ever play them, not because i don like them, but because they just don't fit my playing style at all!
When in strong levels, Zerg is the race of the strong and feared player, and Terran is the race of the untouchable and intelligent player. But for some reason I can't just stick to one =[

Zerg are harder to learn and easier to master. The farther you play to take it, the more you should play Zerg. Otherwise, play Terran.

Be Zerg, so you can TvZ me. I need more zerg practice partners. Haha, but other than that. Just pick what ever you race you feel is your funnest. Screw the skill factor. Just play for fun, and eventually the skill will come along.

So far you've gotten a couple terran players giving half-hearted answers; and a whole bunch of zerg players unashamedly saying pick zerg. Join the swarm.

i (literally) flipped a coin many years ago between terran and zerg, got terran, and i have so much regret now
i know a few zerg players that feel the same way though about wanting to play t, so i'd say to at least tvz and zvt

I used to be in the same boat u were in. I learned the game with terran and stuck with that for several months while occasionally playing zerg for fun. There were many points during that time period where I thought about switching to zerg but I didn't want to abandon terran. Finally, after playing enough games, I decided zerg fit my play style more so than terran, so I made the race switch. My advice would be to continue playing until you find which race is more suitable for your style or which race you have more fun with.

I read this post without looking at the name first, and when I got to the last spoiler, I thought to myself, 'this has got to be the work of shallow'. C'mon man, you're getting predictable.
Edit: And to op, I played zerg exclusively for all of my starcraft career until a few months ago, when the absolute love of the zvt matchup pushed me into playing tvz just to see the other side. That is probably the best decision I have ever made, related to starcraft at least. Anyways, I would suggest trying it out and seeing which matchups you like best with which race, and just go from there...playing 2 races is a lot of fun.

Lol i went with zerg because all i saw on youtube and in reps was boxer owning zergs and you seem to do the opposite. id say go with zerg if you like standard ZvT, as that is the most repetitive matchup. else i personally prefer you go terran as ZvZ is a bitch and ZvT is the best matchup ever.

To be honest, i enjoy playing both TvZ and ZvT a lot, and equally. Also, ZvT is my best MU as well as TvZ is ^^
When im terran, i really love the early game stage where T is so powerful with its shock squad that Z is forced to sunken up and tech.
But when im zerg, i love the early mid-game stage where z muta harrasses the t so bad that it has to turret up and stay in base or else it'll get pwnd, all while teching to lurks, expoing and going for hive.
I'm much, much better with z since ive played like five times the amount of games compared to my t games. But T seem so damn fun to play! ^^
