You know Blood Bath? The base at 7? Well I was playing as Zerg one time in a 2v2, and I actually managed to get TWO stuck on the other side. This was back when I was REALLY terrible, so I couldn't make even one of the drones get back over. Imagine, Zerg starting with 2 drones. Sick life.
Peace~

Oh i so hate that. When you overreact and completly fuck up and then one of your worker goes for the mineral surfing and you can't do nothing but stare.
like when you see a car accident, it just happens and you go "fuuuuuuuck".

Myself I never have done that, but often when I fail split -> have 2 workers @ same mineral -> move second worker to other mineral -> it goes retarted and bounces front and back in minerals.
I have Sick Timing and UnReal Macro

It's close to the identical, but still slower. There's no reason to suggest someone play like this if they can split all four.

Well I agree with you about rpf, but I also agree with Manifesto7. I also pull the middle two and clone them. The difference between that and a perfect 4 probe split is microscopic.... but it would be interesting to show scientifically how much of an effect it has in the long run. Also, anyone who can split all four perfectly won't be swayed in the least by someone saying 'noooo you should grab the middle two and clone them.'

Generally I find it funny when people get bent out of shape about splitting, and yet I have done some pretty strange things while splitting my first four probes, like having one go behind the minerals, or having one spin in circles for a good 2-3 seconds like an idiot.

BTW for an example of how you split your probes, I refer you back to http://nonsense.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=58459

You don't need to split all four probes, you know. When you send your probes to mine, ignore the first probe in the line, and send the second and fourth probes to a different mineral patch than the one your ordered all of your probes to mine at. The third probe will arrive at the save mineral patch as the first, but there will be a short delay between the first probe begins to mine and the third, and so the third will automatically redirect itself.

Beyond terrible advice. You should be strat-forum banned for this blog post.

Why is it terrible advice? If you're going to be critical, the least you can do is exercise those brain cells of yours and back up your statement with something other than threatening to ban me.

Well of course you split all four if you can do it. If you have problems doing it, it's nice to know how to "abuse" the AI a little until you're warmed up enough to split all four.

On a map like the one in the OP, unless I'm absolutely confident I can split the probes perfectly, I won't risk it. Hence my suggestion.

Edit: I'm not suggesting you split the way I suggested previously; I'm suggesting that if you aren't 110% confident you can do your split perfectly, the way I suggested, or the way Mani suggested, will eliminate the possibility of a stuck probe. Obviously losing one quarter of your starting workers right off the bat because of a misclick is a big loss.

Haha, yes we did actually... it was a USEast pub game so being down 25% of your intial probe population means very little.

And Mani, by the time the game was over I had forgotten all about it so it has a boring name, but... when I happened I was just kinda staring at the screen and I think I said aloud "I can't fucking believe I just did that..."

My friend managed to get two probes stuck once... I was like, "Is that even possible?" Apparently it is... in that case, they would be better off if they just right clicked the mineral once and just let them split by themselves xD

Well, if he had two stuck, at least he could for one, or if he were really lucky, both of them out.

My little probe was sort've SOL until some goons put him out of his misery.
