Starcraft in the Philippines

It was about 1998 when starcraft was a direct hit in the Philippines. Internet Cafe/PC bangs must have starcraft. Players from different cities compete for the best. Indeed, I became interested to be the best in Starcraft as well and plays much after school.

Year 2000 came, Counter Strike came. Starcraft became second priority.

Year 2002, Starcraft became a forgotten realm.

Now, Starcraft became nothing at all. Games like Warcraft DOTA, and online games came. It's difficult to play Starcraft. Only a few PC Bangs have this game. And they're all outdated. I felt powerless.

I was surprised when I heard of the WCG 2005. I thought it was time for me to win, but I encountered some of the best starcraft players. I was eliminated. Then I asked them, "Where do you play starcraft?". INternet cafe was the answer.

I'm proud we have best players on our own. But I'm sad that we filipinos does not know about this game...

Starcraft is dying but we can only hope SC2 will be just as good if not better and that it will dominate even longer than SC did.

I'm sorry I am unable to feel your pain.

All PC Bangs I know of carry Starcraft -_-;;

I still can't believe that SC got pwned by CS in two years ... too bad the game with less skill required is usually the more popular one *coughWOWcough*

I share your pain from New Zealand. The cafes here don't even fucking have SC any more, it's all Halo/CS/WC3.

CS doesn't require skill? Yes.. it does.. Not as much as SC, but you have to play competitive CS to know the game.. In CS you have to work as a team and can't do no rambo shit and thinking you're the shit. The game takes time to get good at aiming and to have quick reflexes. Also do you think you are able to clutch (last man standing vs the other team) when you're team is 15-14 and you need only 1 more round to win or else the match goes into overtime? The game does take skill.

But we shall unite eventually. Go to starcraft.co.nz! XD Yeah sc in lots of countries has now faded out. In NZ we're trying to get everyone together and we hosting weekly tournaments to get the activity going,
