Update edit: The vet we saw agreed with JoinTheRain's assessment and doesn't see the tooth as need immediate removal. The vet thinks his tooth has been like that for a while and sees no sign it is causing him pain anymore. Tas has been eating both wet and hard food now. He had 1 accident inside but has done his business outside every other time. Estimated age: 1 3/4 to 2 yr old. He has a lot of stuff going we'll have to work through. He hates leashes and it's nigh impossible to go on a walk with him. He's shown very little interest in toys so far and even ignores food to an extent. He has lots of energy but I'm having trouble finding how to help him spend it. I'm reading lots of stuff online on training and watching different youtube videos. He has gotten a lot better on walks but still has a long way to go. Got him all his vaccines, negative for heartworms, de wormer and second shot of the distemper(i think) vaccine is in 3 weeks. Found a tick on him and removed it. Might give him another tick/flea bath in a week and maybe get one of those collars. He has chewed on the door frame a bit to be let outside(I let him out lots but he basically only wants to be outside atm). I assume this is how he broke his canine. He loves pets and is interested but gentle with the cats thus far. Thanks for the kind words and well wishes! I'm just a normal dude though. Happy New Years everyone!
The other day I opened my door and there was a dog staring at me. I got some dog treats from inside (had them cus my former neighbor had a dog) but he wasn't interested. Followed the little guy for an hour but he wouldn't let me near. Lost him under a fence.
Today, he came and paid me a visit at the screen door with a new friend he'd picked up. His friend turned out to be my other neighbor's dog, who had gotten loose. My neighbor was very upset this street dog was near her dog and trying to score some tail. After she spent some time yelling and banging stuff at him I convinced her to let him come close so I could capture him. Eventually I did and we went separate ways, her calling him a worthless, ugly street mutt.
So now I sorta have a dog, but his tooth is broken. He won't eat anything and it's too late to schedule a vet. I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't have money for a tooth extraction, which I read online is more expensive because it's a canine. I guess I'll have to give him up to a dog rescue or the pound. I had some flea/tick shampoo so he got a bath and his fur is black and white instead of black and brown =P. For tonight, at least, he has a quiet, warm room and access to plenty of food, water and pets.
I have temporarily named him Tas (Tasslehoff Burrfoot) from the Dragonlance Chronicles. Because he's small, persistent and some people get really mad when they see him around(a misunderstanding, he's sure).

the neighbour seems like a horrible person. why be so angry that a stray dog is being friendly with your own? as a dog owner i would have thought shed be more sympathetic about the fact that the stray dog needs care. good on you for taking responsibility for this one

Oh, let me chime in real quick. I am a vet anyway and I can give you the following advice about the fang. If there is no infection in the gum (everything seems fine from the image. Although it is not going to hurt if you make focused photos or some HD video of the mouth from all sides) there is a high probability that the tooth will not have to be extracted. They mostly heal on their own, it is not like human teeth. As for the lack of appetite - I don't know if it can be entirely attributed to the broken fang and pain from gum inflammation which is surely your concern. Maybe the dog is under stress and as it wears off in a day the appetite will return. But having said that - make sure you give the dog soft food, like canned food or cooked meat in tiny pieces, stay away from the hard dry food for some time. At least until a vet sees the dog and estimates the condition.

Guess I wasn't clear enough . He was humping her dog. Still an overreaction on her part if you ask me but it was a bit more than just being friendly.

I tried to get a better pic but as I'm sure you appreciate its hard to get the little guy to open his mouth and stay still with just one hand =P. I just tried and didn't get any pics better than that one. The gum doesn't look swollen, but the tooth is yellow and brown and a bit black as opposed to his other teeth which are very white. I'm calling vets as soon as they open today in a few hours but he did eat some wet food this morning!

Ah, that's the best outcome and it's usually like that with canine teeth. It might be shameful but I've not done research and I don't know why dog teeth don't get sick like human ones. Maybe because they eat almost no sugary food.

Where are you from? Would you mind telling me the prices of those services? Like the vaccines, the Dirofilaria test, the dewroming tablets prices. I am thinking of adding some marketing stuff to my place in Bulgaria and I am highly interested in vet prices so I can compare.

I would suggest not a collar but rather a medication like Nexgard Spectra or Bayer Advocate. They cover ticks and fleas as well as most worms, heartworm included. Second best IMO is a regular spot on medication like Frontline and it's alternatives. For some reason I don't like collars, even the most expensive ones like Bayer Foresto. For most dogs they seem to work fine but fail way more often than insecticides.
Anyway, I wish you all the best!

White Discharge From Female Dog in Heat
As your dog is going through her heat cycle, she may have a white discharge from her vulva that gives your dog a powdery look. There are a few reasons this might happen, but it’s important to know why it’s happening in the first place.
