It all started....oh I dunno say 5pm today (EST), when me and my 2 friends (both of the male gender) decided we were to take the plunge and see that movie everyone is raving about. No, not spiderman, think more....seaworthy. Of course no good movie date is proper without some members of the opposite gender involved, and I don't want to brag, but I am VERY good at getting some females participates.
Everything is settled then, it will be me, 2 male friends, and 2 female friends....ahhh yes, working out perfectly. Have some fun at the movies...then more fun later on. This is going great until about 15 minutes before we are leaving....Ringringringring....ringringringring.....ringringringring...."Hi, sorry we can't go!...Why not?...Oh we are going to chill at our house instead...You guys can come over!". Having already bought the tickets for us 3, I sadly suggest that we see the movie anyway, unthinking of any possible refund I could get by simply not going.
Just then, one of my friends mothers calls up, inquiring as to what our plans are for that fine evening. It seems as if she would like to go along....to see the movie as well. "Well *cough cough*...uh *cough cough* sure thats fine". What did we just agree to? Oh thats right, we are now going to see a movie with his mother.
The movie was ok, but this is not the place for a review.
She thankfully did not sit near us, but still as we are leaving I see some friends, and, being the sociable person that I am decide to strike a conversation. This was a bad idea. [Insert whispered question as to why male's mother has accompanied him to movie theater], [Insert witty response about how I am taking her for a night out]. Whew, that was close, saved from total embarassment.
In retrospect perhaps this was not as big of a deal as I am making it out to be, or perhaps that entire 4 hours sucked major donkey balls, either one is appropriate.
