So, I just spent 9 hours trying to transcribe the bible my Korean pastor gave me. I wanna show a picture, but it's a pain on here.

So, I just draw little pictures of the words/phrase, and then the Korean on the back.

Now I have to memorize them.

But, it can be hard, drawing all those pictures of crusifixtion makes you woozy.

I think I'll take a walk.

Anyone else interested in Korean? I saw some people speaking it on my stream... Good fun, but I'm sleeeeeepy.

Have a nice day.

Bless you.

I'm confuse you are translating an English bible into Korean or a Korean bible into English?

Hmm, maybe you just haven't visited the right church? My Korean church has open hearts and is very friendly and helpful, though you are entitled to your opinion. When I was streaming my bible and Korean language thing everyone who joined was atheist, so I guess it's unpopular to be a christian? But I understand. When I was 12 I was an atheist, then I got into Buddhism and studying Lao-Tzu and Alan Watts and that sort of thing, but I just choose Presbyterian at this time. But, I'm not a zealot, so I can usually have a discussion exploring at least philosophy, stoicism, and morality regardless of if one is anti-christian.

Both, I have two Korean bibles, I started translating my English bible into Korean, but that proved futile. So now I use naver, and it's very useful for translating, though it is tiring translating the complex Korean into English. Usually do it word-by-word. I also study my children's textbook from my school.

The thought of your kids explaining to you their textbook is the cutest thing ever.

I'd say it's unpopular among gamers. Religion in general is a bit of an age/generation, education/wealth (the wealthier parts of Europe are fairly agnostic f.e.) and progressive/conservative thing and hardcore gamers are on average young, from decently wealthy families and progressive.

I personally like Christianity for it's roots, their prophet is a pacifist and a nice guy (compared to Prophets I can compare like Muhammad, Moses or David). I'm strongly atheistic, but Christianity isn't the worst of the bunch.

Translating a religious document sounds extremely tough, the language is on average old and a bit nebulous to begin with. I guess the bible at least tells often stories so you could guess what some parts mean based on the progression.

I went to a religious PreK - 8 school when I was growing up, before standard American high school. One of the things we did was learn to read and write in ancient Hebrew and Aramaic - both long dead languages. I can confirm that learning to translate the bible from Hebrew to English took several years of practice, but eventually it became much easier to understand how to do it correctly. With that said, having someone transcribe and translate with little experience is gonna be a rough ride, that kind of thing takes years of messing up to get anywhere near correct.

Side note, the idiomatic translations are a pain the ass, as are the metaphorical gestures that get added in for sex scenes or murder.
User was warned for too many mimes.

Do you mean idioms into Korean? You can google images for common phrases. As for "a voice crying out in the wilderness..." etc it is truly a hard thing.

A tweet will do.

@OP I've always wondered why people choose to believe in something that requires their belief?

Hmmm, that's a good point, I trouble with it myself.

But, I'm not sure if it's a clear fact that you won't go to heaven if you don't accept etc.
