And yeah, the whole point of Starcraft is that the design is assymetric. This means that the races are good at different things. If the game was crazy imbalanced, the pro leagues wouldn't have near perfect 50% winrates in every matchup over 20 years. And you might say "but the pros discuss it, and they are old players!" but guess what? These clips show them getting asked about it/having the discussion brought up since "many fans have started to discuss it" and they still can't say anything stronger than "vultures are pretty good if you control them right, and flash is pretty damn good". And that's when they're drunk.

The standard maps that make up the bulk of most map pools have been friendly towards the terran race, and unfavourable for the protoss race in general. Deviating slightly from the current set-up to help the protoss race, usually results in zergs being useless, instead of the original intention of nerfing the edge the terran race has over the other two races, taking place. Island maps, maps with extremely high mineral count, and maps with easily walled-in naturals makes the zerg race next to useless against the other two races, although these are the kind of things that help the protoss race. From the current set-up, adding a mineral-only expansions inside the main base, like Andromeda, or reducing the starting position to three spots, with unfriendly features for the terran race like Aztec, prevents the terran race from being the most powerful race, but it's like picking your poison, having zerg or protoss domination, instead of the current terran imbalance, instead of making things more even. Because it is so hard to have some kind of parity between the three races without having to resort to match-up specific maps, most map makers have settled on the current status of balance (T > Z > P >= T), where the imbalance isn't too out of whack. It's a not perfect, but it's what most map makers have come to terms with.
