Hi! I would like to hear your feedback.
Just arriving in Brunei as my 95th country, I took some time to update the list of all countries visited and wanted to know how you count the overall countries in the world.
There are many ways to count and I explained my way here. In short: I counted the 193 UN nations, Holy see (aka Vatikan), Palestine and Kosovo. Maybe I will add Taiwan as well after visiting it later this year.
How many countries do we have in the world according to you?!

Obviously Taiwan counts, as well as Cook Islands and Niue (in my opinion).

One. And just because I lived in Chuí (brazilian city), where to go to Uruguay (Chuy - uruguayan city) you literally just need to cross the road.
Yea, I need to travel more. You are living the dream of many people!
Edit: I see you havent gone to Oceania yet. Any particular reason?

I cant do everything at once, but as i said in my post - i will spent 5 months there coming up this year!
Also been to Chui and Chuy and walked along the road =)))

Having been to both the Cook Islands and Niue I would count both of them as they are functionally sovereign countries.
I've been considering posting a blog of the list of countries I've visited too, which is about 30.
I'm disinclined to count puppet states or states of convenience of only one other country like Northern Cyprus, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Hong Kong, Macao, Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistria.
I also feel unfavourably towards counting states in active rebellion or with marginal control of the territory they claim such as the Islamic State or the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
It's a tough decision but I might count Somaliland. Kosovo counts as a country for me, as does the Vatican and Taiwan is a no-brainer.
Antarctica is a non-state country that is a condominium of the 50-odd Antarctic Treaty partners. It is the only exception I make to my criteria of functional sovereignty.
Regarding Palestine I find this a tough decision also, but I might not count it as it appears to operate more like a Bantustan to my eyes as it is largely in thrall to Israel.
In summary: 198 + Antarctica ± Somaliland ± Palestine

Wow you've seen a lot, awesome. But I feel a bit bad that you decided to visit Helsinki instead of seeing what there is outside the cities.
