Do you manually import songs with a LRC file? In that case 4/5 for not using a data trawler to steal and upload infinity songs.

This is great! This is much better than the other current translation/lyric sites out there, thanks! If you could make a Cantonese version in the future that'd be amazing. Tested a couple of songs which worked flawlessly but tried: 至少还有你 (through the search function at the top) And the sound file is correct (albeit a shortened version), but the lyrics don't seem to be pulling the right song? Anyways, its a great tool and thanks for sharing!

Do you manually import songs with a LRC file? No, it should be automated. That being said, sometimes the site will be unable to locate the lyrics file. I will need to look into this. Anyways, its a great tool and thanks for sharing! I'm going to have to look into this issue to see why the lyrics are incorrect. It would be quite confusing for someone who doesn't understand much to get the wrong lyrics and wonder what's going on. Also, Cantonese lyrics is something to consider since not all songs are vocalized in Mandarin. Anyway, thanks for the feedback

I would use this a lot as I am learning mandarin now, and I am learning songs so I can impress clients at dinner meetings. ^^ Thanks for this!

Sure, I was actually working on a feature that would highlight the text line-by-line as the song progressed, which I believe is similar to what you're expecting. It should be there now since I updated the site earlier. Thanks for your feedback.

I think being able to mouse over unknown words for a translation is super cool. Although context will be the bane of learners, this is much more convenient than looking a word up even in a digital dictionary. I think even without the song that is a cool idea, but the song helps you remember the words and learn the sounds, so it's also good. I would love to see you extend this to children's stories as well, especially if you can find some with an audio track of a person reading it. Chinese isn't my target language, but I have to give you credit. Chinese characters can be annoying to look up in general, for the languages that utilize them, especially for the early learner who hasn't memorised all the radicals. It's an idea implemented in e-readers, but I am pleased to see some specialization for language learning, I'm sure there's a lot that can be done. Like uploading words you want to memorise to memrise, or this kind of thing.

Like uploading words you want to memorise to memrise, or this kind of thing. Glad you like it. It seems like you have experience with Chinese characters. I do agree that in the beginning, a lot of words could look similar, thus hard to remember. I think this app is more for easing people into langauge learning or for people who listen to Chinese songs and have some interest in the language but are intimidated by the difficulty. Children's stories would be a good way to get some practice reading text, but I think that would be better for someone who already knows a little vocabulary and grammar. I'll see.

(I tried the song 干杯 ) I am aware there is a problem with some songs, where the lyrics don't show up. One reason is because some songs share the same title, but are sung by different artists. The song you mentioned for example could be by 五月天 or maybe some other artist. Or this could be one of those rare cases where the lyrics don't exist. I'm going to have to keep looking into this issue first, since this seems to be the biggest problem so far.

Incorrect lyrics exist because as I suspected earlier, some songs have the same title, but are sung by different artists. Just entering a song title without a specific singer might not get the result that you want. Missing lyrics usually means the lyrics don't exist (there's one or two cases so far). What this new feature does is basically allows you to switch the lyric sheet so that you get the correct singer as well as the song name. Hopefully that should fix some problems.
