Throughout the last 4 months, I have been grinding my ass off to get to GM. Right now I am 44th in master, on the NA server. I am really happy with this and im prepared to keep grinding to until I get GM. I am worried though. I feel like I am neglecting my health some by doing this. I am attending university right now and have classes. I have been attending all of my classes/doing the work, but I have not been eating as much, not been working out, and sit playing/watching sc2 around 6-8 hours a day. I know this is what the koreans do (playing all day), but I don't know if I should continue this.

I have read up on some older reddit posts and some ergonomic videos to make sure that I am sitting/playing in the most healthy way possible, stretching my hands before I play/after I play, and keeping my monitors at a good distance for my eyes. I'm trying to keep myself in peak condition for sc2, but I am a skinny person. I have not lost any weight, in fact I have actually gained some (which is awesome considering my metabolism is 'over 9000' right now), but I feel like I am being unhealthy.

I just want some input on the subject from educated people, considering I would either get downvoted or have random people who don't know anything comment on a reddit post.

(I plan on starting to blog more on my progress and how i am feeling, but I just wanted to start off with this to make sure that I am not going to hurt myself in the process)

If anyone wants to watch my progress as I go you can watch my on twitch (www.twitch.tv/morn_sc). I stream around 4-8 hours a day 6 days a week, but this is not what the post was for.

Just make sure you're still getting physical activity and that your muscles aren't atrophying... even the Korean pro houses will have time in their schedule specifically planned for gym/ exercise/ other activities, so that the players' bodies/ posture/ wrists aren't getting too fucked up. Also, there's no reason why your diet has to become shitty! At least you're keeping up with your studies (make sure they don't falter!). gl hf

Yeah, studies are the most important thing right now. Also, whenever i go up to my dorm (5th floor) I always take the stairs. The walking around campus and up hills also helps. I should do some arm exersizes though. Thanks for the feedback. I will try to be a little more active, even if it is just me doing 40 pushups a day in my own dorm.

My only advice is to move. Get up every hour and warm up for a few minutes. No matter how good your posture is, sitting down for extended periods of time is unhealthy.

On top of staying active, try to eat decent food instead of shit too! It makes it wayyyyy easier on you if you get your food groups every day, and from good home-cooked food rather than fast food or school food. I'm a programmer so I deal with the same problem lol (or at least I try to... ;D )

It is very hard to do that though, because I love on campus and parking is a bitch, walking to car, not having a big fridge, not having a kitchen that nearby. stuff like that. It would take so much time from playing IMO, but maybe this is a good idea because it will help me do other things besides playing too.
