No TI5 shuffle drama here ahaha

炸酱面 is a classic Chinese and Korean dish. Koreans even call it like the Chinese call it (I think?).
To make this please be sure to find either of these 2 ingredients: the bean paste 黄酱, or the flour paste 甜面酱

The sauce itself can be stored for few weeks, and is a great dip or spread for something bland, add this to increase pleasure.

Welp, I'll probably cook this sometime this week. Gonna be real fun trying to find the sauce at the local asian supermarket but I've had pretty good success thus far just being meticulous.

You have significantly increased my ground pork intake haha.

Also whenever I cook your stuff a friend of mine I live with gets all defensive about Canton food

your mum grew up in a period that's far more poor than when you grew up.
as it goes the saltier it is the less meat you have to consume per porportion to the amount of noodle
If your mum is like my mum who grew up in the cultural revolution they had 1 pound of meat per MONTH
just imagine that! I eat a pound of meat in like... 2, 3 days!
so yeah it's supposed to be salty. but now we're pretty rich we can make it less salty and eat more meat!!

I'd looove to learn and make some canto food. But I didn't grew up in that region so I don't know much about them >_<
Tell your friend to suggest me some dishes I'll try to make them...
Sorry it's too much ground pork lol. I just got back from a trip and whenever I go on a trip and come back I stock my fridge with some easy food and ground pork is the easiest food there is.

I'm going to try making this soon™. I'm a picky eater who hates to try new things, but I've been better about eating things that I've made myself so hopefully this dish will become a staple of mine. :D

Please dont put oil on your noodles , this is gonna make them slick and prevent them from taking on the sauce really well.

I think we're talking about different noodles here. These noodles always take on the sauce well, but has the opposite problem of becoming sticky and getting matted! If the kind of your noodle is slick and has trouble taking the sauce then yeah I can see your point of course!

Yeah, Koreans call it 짜짱면 which sounds like "jja-jjang myun". Chinese-Korean food is probably my favorite type of Korean food next to the stews. Though what I find different from your zha jiang mian from jja jjang myun is the amount of sauce because Koreans love to lather the noodles in the black bean mix.

It should be quite salty. You don't need to add any salt while cooking. The saltiness should be balanced out by the noodles and the cucumber.

well one can say having a good tongue for things is already 50% to a good cook. You cannot make good food unless you have the craving for it to begin with. If you can settle with microwave meals you're done for!
