my experience with US bureaucracy is this: you're fucked.

even if you were picking up your pregnant wife when her water had just broken, they still probably wouldn't care after the ticket was written. The cop might have been more lenient at the incident, but once tickets are written it's more work for the cop to waive it than it's worth. specially if you're being passive aggressive. they won't care about your problem at all, it's not at all time or health sensitive..

I went to the police station where the ticket thing is. I filled out a form and talked to a parking control officer, he said it's the letter of the law, blah blah. I plead my sympathy case and he copied the receipt that shows I was on a delivery.

They will mail me something back in a couple of weeks.

I went to the police station where there is a traffic control desk. At the desk was a form to contest. I talked to the officer and he said it's he letter of the law, seemed to sympathize with my brief story. Gave him copy of the receipt for the order with the time and address of the customer, showed him that google image thing I drew up. He copied the reciept and stapled it with my form. On the form I basically wrote that 55$ was more than I make in a day, I had my flashers on, engine running, etc and was out of my car for about 2 minutes.

I got another letter about a week ago saying that the 21 days lapsed, and now I owed 80$ and lost my ability to contest.

Have this whole gma dying, mom sick in hospital, moving thing going on so I didn't get all my mail etc. (I'll post all about this shit later)

My sister got a letter saying that they dismissed the ticket a few days ago.

These people are entirely talking out of their a$$. Actually you can usually get a parking ticket waved if you are a driver engaged in a commercial delivery business and stopping temporarily to load or unload passengers or merchandise. If you had a cartopper or other delivery sign on, the parking enforcement person should never have given you a ticket...period. Thus the reason for having a cartopper on and lighted when you are delivering.
