Our next group involves four players who could all potentially make it out of the group, with Liquid Bunny, Liquid MaNa, former Root member MajOr, and Team Envyus viOLet. To start it all off, we will be seeing the second TvT of the season, MajOr versus Bunny.
MajOr, one of the only foreign players to participate in Proleague for a Kespa team. Arguably the top foreign Terran, but a well-established power house overall in the North American Scene. Since the scenes are so far apart, it’s hard to establish MajOr’s form in comparison to the European scene. His TvT has always been one of his strongest match-ups with a career win rate of 75%, but he has never faced his opponent in an official match.
While discussing the European scene, it’s as if Bunny hasn’t had much ability to show his TvT powers, having only played 9 official matches in almost 3 months. That being said, versus foreign Terrans, his win rate is only 5% lower, having full access to some of the other top foreign Terrans like Happy, HeRoMaRinE, MarineLorD, Kas, Dayshi, and Morrow. Anything could happen in a well-executed Terran versus Terran series, but at this point I would give the favour to the Danish Liquid Player.
viOLet, recently being acquired by Team Envyus as their first SCII Pro, showed decent form blowing through the WCS Qualifier first attempt, but not without dropping a few games. The Korean-American Zerg has some history with his first opponent MaNa, current leading 4-2 in series. It will mostly depend on what sort of practise viOLet can get from top Protoss Koreans and how much time he has allocated away from his other endeavors. His opponent will have the best foreigner in the world at his call, which is unfortunate for viOLet.
MaNa’s current state in PvZ is not the best. Unfortunate for MaNa, most of his history against top Zergs have been against fellow teammates TLO and Snute, and at added Nerchio factor. With two Liquid players already through to the round of 16, TLO and Snute most likely won’t be refusing assistance to Bunny and MaNa to prep them as much as possible, and if that Liquid power is to continue, we may see a tag team advancement.
MaNa versus viOLet will go 1-1, just depends on who takes the first one…
MajOr < Bunny
MaNa < viOLet
Bunny > viOLet
MaNa > MajOr
viOLet < MaNa"
