A little late, but I was off enjoying Florida for the past week so never got around to this. Last year for me was a crazy year for me in terms of change (and god do I hate change most of the time), it started in late August of 2013 when I moved out on my own into an apartment and fully happened about mid 2014.
To give you a perspective on why I say this for the past 8-10 years I have done almost the same thing for a majority of the time. From 2005 when aoe3 came out I played that game a lot, like me and an online friend would play 2v2 all day and it was a blast. The game really died at the end of 2008 and if it didn't, I would probably have played that for god knows how long. So after that I got into BW in 2009, played that until sc2.
The first major change in 2014 was not playing sc2 anymore at around early-mid January. This was a big change for me, for about a month or so I didn't have any game I wanted to play a ton. I'm not going to go saying my life was better and the best thing to happen like a lot of other blogs do, in fact for the first couple weeks I was bored as could be as other then going out with friends once or twice a week, I had nothing to do on my free time and so I watched a ton of movies, TV series (breaking bad and re-watches of game of thrones, Legend of Korra, etc). I won't lie the biggest benefit to not playing sc2 was the rage (for the poor ladder Protosses that played me, they probably remember). In that aspect I loved not getting super mad at times. It's been a year so far now and I have no desire to return until LOTV and if I end up not liking it, then I won't force myself to play it, but it does look really fun and does make me want to play again.
At around February-March I started playing CSGO a lot. It was my first FPS I played to try and get good. I got to DMG and then stopped playing much in July because that is when a ton of stuff happened. I had saved up a lot of money throughout 2013 and all of 2014 up until June so that I could buy my first house. I moved into my house July 11 and got a purebred German Shepherd Puppy a few weeks later (pictures below) and started a new job making more money.

Gaming in general died down a lot for me the second I got that puppy in early August (and I knew it would). Got her at 8 weeks and she's been keeping me real busy with training her and her hyper energy. I definitely get outside a lot more as I take her for walks everyday (can't wait for this cold weather so I can enjoy the walks more lol). She's about 6.5 months old and a lot better behaved and now I can do things where she won't bug the hell out of me.
I also started writing a book in mid October and so far am at 41,000 words. I have always enjoyed writing, I just always got lazy and this is the farthest I have ever gotten in a book. After a couple weeks of writing I got that feeling of "ug I don't feel like writing" like I always did. This time however I powered through it and surprisingly started loving the feeling of writing my story, something I had never gotten with previous book attempts. I force myself to write everyday and am happy with my progress in that department.
The final thing I also started doing in November was get back into online poker. Not very good obviously and it's more of a for fun thing, but of course it's competitive and I am a very competitive person. For about 3 days I started going through tilt when losing on the river (for anyone who plays hold em they know what I am talking about). Somehow I was able to fix that problem quickly of tilt, something I was never able to fix in sc2 and it's nice to see myself lose on the river and just go "That's poker" and not get enraged or anything like I do in most competitive things I do. I am trying to get better and it's a lot of fun. I did place 2nd in an online tournament and won 240$ which was the most I had ever won in an online tournament even before Black Friday (fuck you government!).
2015 started out awesome going to Floriday for a week, enjoyed the sun and vacation. Was rough going back to work today as I hadn't done anything at all work wise since January 1st. Anyway I'll stop rambling, if you read all this I commend you and thank all who read this amazingly entertaining read .

Well fuck I hit quote instead of edit. Well, while I'm here might as well craft this into a post worthy of reading...
A couple questions. What did you think of the final book of LoK? Of the series as a whole (outside of combing through the thread)?
Read any good books lately? I'm in dire need of literary gasoline.
And lastly (nah, this post still isn't really worth it but it's better than a shitty quote), if you do play LOTV, will you stream it? A huge nostalgia blast is welling up in my heart.

I was happy with the book except for the ending. Really disliked the very ending (and no it's not because I am anti-gay). I felt it was rushed in how that ended and they could have done a way better job if that was truly how they wanted to end it. I feel they did it for fan service, but oh well fantastic book and I loved toph :D. I loved LOK in general, I liked the darker more seriousness and the fact there were actual killings was nice.
Haven't been reading any books lately, last book I read was lone survivor and that was a fantastic book.
I should note I will be playing LOTV 100% and I will be streaming it 100%. I also intend on adding a webcam that will only show my dog (jk you can view me to). I know I will be playing competitively in a sense, but mainly for dem ladder points and rankings I will have no intention of even trying to go pro.
Also good to see you still visit TL, I don't post as much, but visit here everyday.

Reminded me of when i got my german shepherd. The girl was so small she could sleep under this tiny dressing table next to my PC with space to spare, Now she's too big for the damn sofa :D
Lovely dog.
Good luck with the book! Want to tell us a bit about it?

Yeah seems like just yesterday I could lift her easily; now not so much. Funnily enough if I pick her up now she doesn't care, she squirmed as much as she could when she was smaller.
The book itself is about an invasion incoming from the other side of the galaxy. Currently it's focusing mainly on two groups of people on 2 different planets looking for missing members of their academy.
Anyone in the galaxy can use magic, which is a focus on the academy. Most people don't though as it's very, very difficult to learn even the most basic of moves. They use it to help people and are concerned when a lot of planets in the outer edge drop contact and nobody can reach them. The government asked them to send some people over and see if they could find anything.
Haven't worked too great on a description and it's nothing super original that's for sure, but I enjoy writing it. I am not writing it in the hopes of making money or anything, just something I do on my spare time. I'll self publish it when I finish it and feel it's as good as I can get it and then continue on the next book of the series. I don't know why I find it fun, but it is .

No doubt a huge pain at times. They require so much focus and attention as they like to bite every little thing they can. Worth it imo, but can be annoying at times like anything else ^^.
