it's true man. there are a lot of industries that do quite a bit of harm. but there are also lots of industries that provide benefit as well. Overall the problem lies with humanity itself.

Haha, yeah, I took one of those free $20 on some site, and oscillated between 10 and 20 on lowest limit for a while before I got bored. I did some calculations in the end, and I think I effectively took around $50 from players, and gave them to the poker site in rake. So well, good investment on their side to give me the free $20 (that I couldn't withdraw anyway) I guess...

No, but there actually are super shady online italian poker rooms. I play on pokerstars though

Have you noticed how the people who have "addiction problems" in poker are always the people who are losing? The people who win keep playing just as much as the people who keep losing, but nobody feels sorry for them because of how addicted they become, and nobody is blamed for enabling them.

The problem is losing, not gambling.

what limits are you playing?

It's kind of annoying how on pokerstars (and really any poker room i guess?) you can only sit with other italians. Silly gambling laws.
