Not very much exciting going on here, but an update for update's sake!

New Season!
A new season started and I've been promoted to platinum. It feels pretty good to know that the practice I am finding time to do, while not always a huge amount, is having an effect.
I've generally been playing a limited number of builds:
vs T: Blink All-in or 2 base colossus into macro
vs Z: Warpgate pressure into as many bases I can make into army or phoenix pressure into skytoss
vs P: Pray.
This has been working pretty well and I've felt that my build timings are becoming tighter over time. I haven't yet played enough games against each race to be able to plot that, but I'm hoping to have enough soon!
I'm almost to the point where my macro is reasonable enough to actually work on builds rather than just remembering to build probes and pylons all the time. I'm looking forward to getting fully into TheSandbox mode.
New Screen!
In the "What do you think of the proposed Terran changes?" thread, Snute said this:
Snute:
A classic ZvT plays out the same every time, Zerg defends for ages and Terran has a wide range of builds that can kill Zerg before the Muta cloud is up. The match-up might be close to balanced as a whole but most Terrans try to finish the game as soon as possible. Clever Zergs will never attack off of creep until they have some sort of fully upgraded 200/200 army with a muta cloud - or if they took an amazing defensive engagement.
It's very important to look at the win-rates relative to game length and compositions when evaluating the state of this match-up. Especially looking at the correlation between Mutalisk count and win rate would be interesting.

So I thought I would find out.
However, I haven't yet written the code that actually makes the graph.
This is my task over the next couple of days.
There's a number of factors in here that I need to consider as I'm trying to make the graphing reasonably generic.
I will need to think about how best to group up the data. If we're comparing resource value lost vs winrate, then there's no point looking at it on a per mineral basis, as there won't generally be resource lost scores that aren't multiples of 25, so decent grouping of X axis points will be required.
Once I've sorted all those, I should be able to get some good graphs going and see if and where the correlations lie.
Weekend
I'm going to a wedding this weekend, so will not be getting much work done, sadly.
Hopefully I can get something worth showing before then!
