So I recently moved into a new apartment and it was awfully lonely.
I ordered myself a nice Bonsai Tree which came in the mail a few days ago. I always thought these things are easy to take care of and live for hundred of years. However, when it arrived, I watered it a bit then put it outside to get some sunshine...
WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!?!?

More seriously, anyone have any advice!?!

I thought this would be about a pet. Close enough.

Arn't they the hardest plants to look after?
|
Yes. Cops have been called. They're on their way.

You aren't a murderer because you didn't finish the job. That fucking plant still has a bit of life left in it. Finish it off.

I've always considered bonsai trees to be such poor, tortured things that killing them is a mercy.

Bonsai are difficult to take care of. Not only do they require watering, they will also require occasional fertilizing, re-potting, trimming, and wiring.
That isn't really bonsai though just a potted plant.

OMG YOU'VE KILLED IT! :O You should feel ashamed of yourself! >

Wow you're really good at sensational titles!
Well now that I know this is about a bonsai tree and not murdering a human in cold blood, I have to say I think its really unlikely that you murdered your bonsai, just because if it really is such a hardy tree that it survives for hundreds of years, I think it should be able to survive being outside for a day. Maybe it was just a particularly hot day or something, but I'm sure it'll make a come back if you keep it inside.
Just feed it lots of water, and talk to it once in a while so that it feels better

STAWP TALKING UR DYING IT
hehe jk. seriously though, you over-watered that ol' girl. See how all those leaves are droopy? That means "I don't want anymore soda pwreese" in plant language, or as Garfield would say:
Over-watering can lead to root-rot so it's important to not do it.

Maybe you left it outside too long. Sun can be intense, not everyone needs a dark tan...

All u need to do to keep plants alive is having as ideal circumstanses as possible for it, people new to plants might think a plant prefer lots of water and lots of sun but actually they need a moderate amount of it, especially if its growing in a small pot that will dry out after a couple of hours on a hot day, overwatering it can be just as harmfull as not giving it any water, a tip is to lift the plant and urn up and feel the weight, when the plant feel very light it need water and if its almost as heavy as yesterday when u gave it water its still fine, plant can give signs when they dont feel well, for example overwatered plants often looks a bit purple on the leafs and hang more then usual, giving a plan too much nutrient can make it look burnt and dried out, easy to misread.

that doesnt look like a bonsai tree at all to me.
