This is Eugenie Bouchard, she's been going up the ranking ladder in women's tennis and did better than expected at the Australian Open. I think she's 16th worldwide now up form 40something last year (that might be way off). Le Canadia has high hopes!

I tried watching for skill, but most of women's games are too one sided, and I get bored. It pales next to men's tennis.

Ok maybe the last one I posted isn't as good looking as the others.
Women's tennis is less physical but I think it involves more technique. These professional female tennis players are very passionate about the game and competition is tough.

It's not as fast and powerful to watch as men's tennis but it's still an impressive display of skill. There's a lot of close matches but it's easy to remember only the one-sided matches when we have the more visually impressive mens to watch. There's probably some stats out there saying there are more one-sided matches, but I see a hell of a lot of one-sided mens tennis too so I'm not sure its as large a gap as we often imagine.
Anyway my comment before was a bit antagonistic, I just dislike the idea of my potential future pro tennis daughter working so hard to kick ass and for many spectators to just comment on her looks. It's natural for people to comment on looks due to our culture of celebrity, but I just hope we remember not to objectify these people and remember that they push themselves to the limit of their physical abilities to create great matches.

women's tennis is one of the few sports where the matches are equally as entertaining as men's. i dont watch tennis in general enough as i would like to, but it is fun
