Why do you think I have to take a break from academia? Just curious. I'm assuming it's because I won 't have time? You don't think one could manage both, or is it just too much to be able to truly experience life if one hasn't yet? What would you suggest I do now then? Thanks for the thoughts doc ![]()

There really is no answer imo, if you look at a lot of successful people in the world, a lot of them didn't start doing their "dream job" until mid 40s or so. I thought for the longest time I wanted to design games, but just in the last 2-3 years or so I ended up enjoying comic writing/drawing a lot more than designing games. I'm 26 right now, and my "calling" or "dream" more so came when i was around 24ish. I drew sometimes on my own though, and started writing on my own back in... probably 9th grade or so, so maybe this was always my calling =P. But there isn't really a method imo, I just... did it, and realized i loved it and kept doing it. It's not easy to just find out what you love to do, especially being young.

You're right; some people are lucky enough to know from an early age, but most have to wait a long time to figure such things out. The problem that I've had was that I never experimented, so I've put myself into an interesting situation, but not an impossible one I think. Congratulations on finding out what you love, good luck on your journey.
