So today was just one of those days ...
A lazy Sunday where one contemplates the meaning of life. A kind of day where one has mountains of work piled up and yet no energy or enthusiasm to even touch them. The sort of time when one shirks adult responsibilities in order to reflect on childhood abstractions
Nostalgia is the disparity between your current perception of the world and your misguided belief that things were different when you were younger. With the passage of time it becomes evident that it is not the world surrounding us that fundamentally changes, rather it is ourselves that transform
It was New Year's Eve 1999. Although I was too young to comprehend, I could fathom the palpable excitement in the air of joyous festivities. This was an effective threesome. The new millennium, my friend's birthday, and my friend's family moving into their new home. Their new residence was a huge improvement from their former cramped apartment, the kind that we still lived in at the time. I remember thinking that one of their bedrooms was approximately the size of our entire living room. It was also the first time my friend had his very own bedroom in which to sleep. My parents had decided to give him the cheapest, blandest, and most generic birthday gift of all time: a book. But it was no ordinary book, it was the Guinness Book of World Records 2000
While the parents and our younger siblings were downstairs, my friend and I retreated to his room to examine the contents of his new acquisition. And lo and behold, on the cover page of this edition was a provocative image of a young Heidi Klum (pre-Seal era) wearing an exclusive limited time edition million dollar bra from Victoria's Secret formed of silk, satin, and lace and adorned with precious studded diamonds. As a precocious strapping lad, this was easily the most extravagant and ostentatious thing I had ever seen and it set my jollies in overdrive
While sleeping over at his house that night, my friend and I partook in intellectual discussion concerning this scientific phenomenon known as erections, which we had mutually experienced while browsing through the pages of this wonderful book. My friend provided the hypothesis that erections happen as a result of the body thinking that it is engaged in sexual intercourse, a thought that thoroughly grossed me out
The following morning my friend and I and his father and my father were driving to a nearby shopping mall to pick up some things. On the journey his father asked the both of us what we wanted to be when we grew up. We looked at each other and silently uttered, in unison, "camera man"

All right, that was a semi-funny punch-line.

The point is that we felt guilty about looking at women showing indecent exposure for the sake of media and publicity that regards women as marketable sex objects. Our fascination and pleasure was at once nullified by the intense hatred and disgust that such atrocities can exist and be acceptable in a post-modern feminist world

It is commonly instilled in western cultures (most notably, the US OF FUCKIN A)

To be fair, I think any interaction with you would be awkward and uncomfortable, regardless of the topic.

Seems to be insinuating that you are awkward.

But Ghin's motto is "Legalize drugs and murder". That makes me a little uncomfortable.

Hahahaha 5/5 for this line:
"As a precocious strapping lad, this was easily the most extravagant and ostentatious thing I had ever seen and it set my jollies in overdrive"
Can't say I have experienced anything similar, but I do recall a dorm discussion with my friend in high school about oral sex which was pretty awkward for me, having had no experience on the subject and trying to imagine it from an objective point of view.

I was more talking about Shauni's tendency to yell at people who give him halfway competent advice. NeuroticPsychosis may be weird but at least he isn't a jerk.
