Update:
doh, they've killed it
refunds should be going out next week, according to indiegogo
Inspired by the bravery and ambition of Sons of StarCraft, I decided to make a crowd-funded project of my own so I might contribute to esports in my own, small way. Thus, I humbly present to you:
Are you ready for eSports journalism that goes where no eSports journalism has gone before? Get ready to delve into the hearts and minds of those who work in the shadows of this cloaked industry as award winning journalist Waxangel provides unbiased, cutting-edge reporting at the speed of a Razer Kraken.
He's beholden to nobody. He's independent.* He's already pissed off the whole industry, so he has nothing to fear. There's nothing in the way of him and the cold, hard truth.
*May not apply to TeamLiquid.net
Thank you for all your continued support as we seek to advance this beautiful, unparalleled game together. God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

Wouldn't you need a couple of E-sport personalities to promote you? There's no way I can know that this is legit otherwise, how can I trust you to spend the money on a smartphone? Maybe you'll spend it all on some F2P game?

Yes, i would help to fund this project if it would be promoted by trustworhty esports personalities like Deathangel, Gus or the NASL soundguy.

I don't think even Star Citizen had this much momentum!

Anxiously awaiting the Richard Lewis article.

You need to get Bitter/Dam in on the con, post some BS quote from them legitimizing your crowdfund. Offer them 20% of the take to keep quiet, should do it. Or wait, get 2GD - he's all kinds of shady. But nobody would want to read anything about him.... hmm, better stick with option 1.
Anyhow, like someone said above, you gotta get a face-guy or two. It'll keep the heat off you for months (or years)

This is the first esports kickstarter I've backed, I feel really good about this. I was pretty sold when I realized the 1k would bring me more entertainment than the 42k for Sons of Starcraft did.
