So I should have posted this earlier, but here's full details about my involvement in a few upcoming events.
In January I'm going to be attending Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 (Page here) where I will be speedrunning Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm (brutal difficulty) and Mark of the Ninja for charity. (The Prevent Cancer Foundation specifically) Last year we raised $448,423.27 over 16306 individual donations. The last event (Summer Games Done Quick 2013) brought our overall total money raised for charity over one million dollars, and we have a realistic chance of raising another million during this event alone.
You can find the schedule on this page or just go to the marathon page and take a look around. I'll be playing Mark of the Ninja on Thursday, the 9th of January, 2014 at 10:40 AM Eastern Time (GMT-5) and Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm on Thursday, the 9th of January, 2014 at 2 PM Eastern Time. (GMT-5)
So far I have a bunch of prizes lined up for Starcraft, as the main way we try to raise money is by encouraging donations and running raffles for prizes based on the game that the person donated during.
Prizes:
ESL T-shirts signed by players at the World Championship Series Season 2 finals.
Some computer gear signed by players on Axiom eSports.
Starcraft Risk (new) donated by Strongfox.
I have a few more prizes still being arranged and sent that will be posted in the Team Liquid Speedrunning thread as they are confirmed.
There will be tons of other prizes associated with all of the other games as the event will be running the entire week of the 5th of January to the 11th of January and all of the donations will be going to a great cause. As I mentioned last year, I will be, once again, attending in memory of my Father who passed away from Multiple Myeloma two years ago.
Beyond all of that, I am planning on attending Crystals For Life (C4L webpage still under construction) during its second year. This year it's expanded beyond just Final Fantasy games into RPG speedruns in general. I will hopefully be speedrunning Chrono Cross for Charity (Benefitting JDRF The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) That is tentatively set for the first week in May and my game has made it past the first round of cuts with a very low likelihood of it being cut on the final round. I'll post more details about that one as it comes up.
Even if you don't tune in to watch my games, these events are usually a ton of fun to watch and benefit a good cause, so I definitely recommend tuning in.
