I'm actually trying to go the opposite direction and reduce the number of minerals so eventually it is in line with proleague maps. On this map, all expos are normal, the main mineral chunks are 10K a piece. That is why this late into the game, I am re-expanding back into my main. Now that we are consistently expanding out, I'm going to try dropping the mineral chunks to 5K. Using Mike's base as measurement which was not harassed up until this point and remained at full saturation, after 45min-1hr they ought to run out, which still seems a reasonable compromise to me. If I made all expos infinite money, then I would shrink the map size. The only reason BGH works is because the infinite money because there really is only a main and a natural for all 8 players. There is no room for any other expansions. The size I am at is so that I can have a reasonable number of expansions. Mind you with eScape and LordBryon, we play 1v1v1 on proleague maps just fine. With the three of us, we also played some pretty funny mono-battles. We had to roll dice to figure out first whether it was Barracks, Factory, or Starport unit (assuming Terran) and then roll again for the only unit we could mak. Minus something like the Science Vessel which you could never go on the offensive. First game, we somehow all got air units which was a sort of meh game. Second game was hilarious as it was vultures vs DTs vs firebats. (Transport units were allowable.) I needed a lot of bunkers and turrets to survive with firebats, lol. | ||
