What about Draco vs Midas? :D wasn't that during the right time period?

Gratulations, you found the second page.

Oh, nevermind.

In the past two months the ICCup Ladder Main Event Ladder Phase went down. More than 1,000 players participated, more than 10,000 games were played and now only the best of the best remain. A total of $750 are on the line, thanks to our sponsors!

The system is a bit complicated, as the ICCup administration wanted to make sure only the elite comes through. We're going to skip some details, for a full report, we suggest you check Liquipedia!. First off, only the Top 288 qualified. Ranks #288 to #17 will play on the upcoming Saturday in the first two stages: The Qualifiers and the Shoot Outs. It's going to be tough, there will be blood and it will most definitely be a very, very long day for everyone involved!

Please note, that we won't be able to provide you with live scores in the original post. Check the Liquipedia article for updated results; the sub-pages are listed below!

The first stage will be the Ladder Qualifiers. The places #33 to #288 will be put into sixteen 16 Man Single Elimination Brackets. Futhermore, the ICCup Administration wanted to reward a better rating, hence the places #33 to #48 were seeded into different brackets, so the players with a better rating would only meet in the later stages.

      More Details:
Time: 14:00 CET Start (15 Minute Walk Over Deadline for 1st Round, 5 Minutes without excuses after!)

The official English speaking Casters will be BisuDagger, (Wiki)dRaW and Talent!

      About: BisuDagger

This man is a guy who really fucking loves Bisu and founded the Church of Bisu, which currently has over 1 million disciples worldwide. It is not a cult. He almost lost his faith the other day when he suggested that Stork might be a better Protoss than Bisu, and I quickly reprimanded him for his sins, and he repented. If you give him trouble, I will roast you in a rap song. That's not a good thing, so don't even go there. Just back away and nobody will get hurt. His casting style is strong, enthusiastic and mixes in very subtle humor that you probably won't catch, and think is serious.

Catch phrases: "We love him/her, but not as much as we love Bisu.", "Let's just pretend I'm right."

      About: dRaW

The strongest, most legendary Protoss player in the history of StarCraft. He also really fucking loves Bisu. His constant dabbling in playing Zerg and Terran have caused some hilariously stupid people to think that dRaW is a Zerg player, but that is false. His true race is Italian. His skill is legend, and he has beaten Sziky many times. He is the kite runner, the snake charmer, the horse whisperer, the lion tamer, and the undisputed world champion, and got A rank on iCCup using Protoss. He currently plays for Team sas, which was betrayed by Sziky for 30 pieces of silver. His casting style is analytical, with making lots of funny voices.

Catch phrases: "Just make Lurkers", "Hm nah, that's pretty standard."

      About: Talent

Another guy who really loves Bisu. Actually, all of these guys are ga-ga for Bisu, and it's creepy and weird. But anyhow, Beggar is a 1200(ish) rank Fish player who recently found out that the McWraps at McDonald's are not actually healthy. He is a frequent attender of C-rank events, although he's clearly better than C+, but that's how C events work. He enjoys eating fried chicken. He is the sole owner of a secret replay pack from a very good Protoss player on Fish who is in the top 20, and you can't have it. His casting style is humorous and going "shiittt." a lot.

Catch phrases: "Shit man", "Man, these guys are just bad."

ICCup.Regular asked some of the players to send in their replay packs and tried to find the hidden gems. Thanks to NinaZerg and BisuDagger a few of these were already casted - inofficially. Check them out, you won't regret it!

Also, don't forget to vote in the polls in the second post!

Very nice writeup!

It doesn't really qualify, since PJ was a progamer for a while in Korea and lived in China where the competition was much higher than what he have here, but his matches in WCG 2009 were also really exciting. He should have easily beat Bisu on Tau Cross but got really cocky and didn't think about DT's, which were pretty much Bisu's only way of winning. Then he qualifies and takes the first game off Stork in the bracket stage, but loses a very, very close game on Colosseum and then gets torn apart on Destination. It was a sad ending for him, but man he was close to breaking through.

Also, I didn't see it mentioned in the article, but the best part of Zim vs. Jaedong is that Zim changed races from Zerg to Protoss during the countdown. Jaedong was playing it like a ZvZ.

Also, don't forget that, even though iloveoov was a beast, Draco was up 1-0 against him in the brackets. Yeah, it was due to a proxy 2 Gate with pretty sick micro on Paranoid Android, but it's still pretty impressive IMO. Lost the second game in the long, drawn out Carrier game on Gaia, then got lost on Azalea when he got in that position every Protoss players hates in PvT.

Sigh. Let it go, but in short, "yes".

+ Show Spoiler +

This article is not about hackers, nor does it feature Testie as "the only attraction", it is one single Battle report out of many VODs. If I had found reliable sources (official posts, replays, anything), I might've added it - or not, because I'd simply forgot when I was writing and it wasn't in my notes. I honestly don't know much about Testie's conduct, but I know about dOTY, back then and now.
Mind you, I also added dOTY in my other write ups about post-Beta stuff, with links, with sources, as well as writing quite clearly that I have a biased opinion. Because it made sense content wise and I wouldn't want to censor his role in the ISL 3 - why would I, the games were somewhat good.

I remembered the Testie series, because the games were nice. This has nothing to do with his personality, his hack records or other things. Same goes for other people in the previous articles. There was a hacker in the Mondragon vs. Dissy write-up, too. I don't know much about that guy's past either, nor did I have sources. Similar is true for Semih. Even though I have no positive feeling about these two, they were in a pervious article.

If that makes the entire article unreadable, "I'm sorry". I will not fix it, unless you link me to sources, which would convince me.

I WILL NEVER LET IT GO.

Okay fine, I'll let it go. Just... I have a really hard time understanding why you do the things you do sometimes, and it's frustrating.

I hope this was stressed out enough, I remember the series and the 'surprised/thrilled' comments - well if not, my bad, next time I'll write a bit more.

I thought about leaving him out entirely, I really feel bad for this guy and his reputation. I find it cool that he participated either way and had fun with it. Feels a little like people look down on him with jealous eyes, then again, might be a skewed view.

Also, don't forget that, even though iloveoov was a beast, Draco was up 1-0 against him in the brackets. Totally agree, that's why it's in.

I did some more "google, Site:xy" searches and sources turned up. Added them. Hopefully better now.
