Daily Ladder-age #32: Yeaaaaaaaah Zerglings

The game is a PvZ on the map Neo Planet. My opponent is a random, so I actually don't open up with a forge fast expand, but rather a gateway expand. I actually was a bit proud of myself with the placement of my buildings... they defended me pretty well if I may say so my self. potential to keep out zerglings while still allowing for some movement if early zerglings weren't coming.


Aw yeah, defensiveness!

Meanwhile my enemy who I found out was a zerg, is going for a 10 pool. Normally this may have brought me a lot of hurt, but my gateway expand that I was performing made a pretty good defense!


GTFO lings this is protoss territory!

I get Emily out onto the field as soon as my cybernetics core is finished to seal the deal against his rush. Whew, dodged that loss eh!? Started feeling pretty confident, and I decide to go along and get up my expansion.



The only real scouting that I got done was to check for his 3rd base, but since I have no idea what the timings would be after a 10pool I didn't suspect anything too crazy. Looking into his base, however...


Aw shit niqqa we got brainlings.

BUST ALERT! BUST ALERT! BUTT ALERT! Dem banelings!!! My scouting is mediocre! My micro also sucks! WHAT WILL HAPPEN!? WHEN WILL THE CAPSLOCK GO AWAY!?

The death penguins waddle towards my wall, but it's ok! I have a sentry!!! FORCE FIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...


Uhm.... uh.... for... force... force field??

Aaaaand my micro and map awareness is shit. Not really sure what was distracting me, but I totally wiffed my force field. Emily popped down her photon overcharge on my natural and I evacuated my main, so things didn't go all too bad. I also completed my stargate so I basically began to just buy time for an oracle to come out.


1 probe kill. Now THAT's what I call a bust!

While the zerg was failing at ravaging my main, I actually was using a warp in to attack his base. I actually missed my FF for a good reason! My 3 fast warpgates served me well to counter attack. I was hoping, more than doing direct damage, to force out units and to slow his tech. With delayed tech, my stargates would be able to serve me even better than usual <3.


Aw yeah forcing ALL the units!

The overall damage after both players' attacks ended up in my favor, AND I had a significant tech advantage with my stargate. With my good ol' oracle, I was left with opportunity to deal even more damage to him.



My oracles get out to the field and my zealot harass actually had already eliminated his defending queens. Free kills!


Where's your god now!?

Speeding on ahead, I start to expand my horizons with a 3rd base. I start pumping out voidrays to protect it while teching to storm as usual. Since the zerg's tech is quite far behind in this game I can safely take it withouth much worries for a fast hydralisk attack.


Oh what a great view! Lets settle here Harold!

The zerg tries to pressure my expansion with the infamous 9 hydra-suicide timing attack, and my voidrays easily hold off. With the loss of precious hydralisks for my opponent, my voidrays now have a chance to build up to a pretty good number.


Yes, yes, our strategy is working just as planned!

While I would have enjoyed the ensueing macro game in which i most definitely would have won, my opponent smartly GGs out shortly later.
