Read this and though i would post it here in English:
- A man comes home from work late after dinner to his family. His son engages him in a conversation: Son: "Dad, can i ask you a question?" Dad: " Certanly, whats up kiddo?" Son: " Dad, how much money you make in an hour?" Dad: " Thats none of your concern, why would you ask me something like that?" Son: " I would just like to know. Please, tell me how mush you make an hour?" Dad: " Well, if you must know, i make 100$ the hour" Son: " Oh! mmh" Son: " Would you lend me 50$ ?" The dad gets angry and says: " The only reason you asked how much i make was because you wanted money to buy a stupid toy or something else meaningless...Go straight to your room and to bed!" Think about why you are so egoist. I work hard every day and i come home just to deal with this type of crap. "
The small child then goes silently to his room and shuts the door. The man sits down and starts to meddle about the question of his son.. How could he ask me how much i make to ask for money to buy a toy? What could he possibly need? I provide for him everything and even give him a small allowance...not that he asks for money very often....maybe he really needs the 50$ to buy something.. After a while the man gets up and goes to knock on the door of his son' s room
Dad: " Are you sleeping? " Son: " no dad, i' m awake. " Dad: " I' ve been thinking. Maybe i was to harsh with you back there. It was a tiring day for me today. Here is the 50$ you wanted. " The man then hands gives his son the 50 $ The boy stands up and seems delighted. Son: " Oh, thanks dad! " Then he goes to a box he kept on his desk and pulls out some other money he had in it. Seeying that he already had money there,and starts getting angry again. The boy is counting his money and then look up to his Father.
Dad: " Why would you want more money if you had already? " Figlio: " Because i didn' t have enough. Now i do". "Dad, i have 100$. Can i buy 1 hour of your time? Please, tomorrow come home 1 hour earlier, i would like to have dinner with you. "
The father stood there speechless and started hugging his son.
. One must not always work so hard. We do not realise how fast time passes without having spent some with the people we love. Some day you might give all your money just to realise it is too late. If we would Die tomorrow (touch wood), the society we work for could replace us within days. But Friends and family that we leave behind would miss us for the rest of their lives. try to spend more time with the people you love. They are worth more than money will ever be.

You know, with MC travelling so much, i'm beginning to think he could take a little bit away from this. I'm sure he could be spending more time with all the baby mommas hes accumulated across the world!

Just because it got annoying for you doesn't mean you have to be so sore about it.

It's less being sore, and just not liking the spam, though I do see your point. Though it requires very little from him to copy and paste it, I guess from your point of view, which is totally valid, it has merit. I see your point, I probably reacted a bit too quickly with condescension ;_;

I thought it was a really nice story, minus the part at the end. It didn't need a soppy explanation to tell us the moral of the story in philosophical wording, but I guess I can't blame you since you didn't really write it. Glad you posted it. I don't use FB or Twitter so here's the only place I would have seen it.

Aha, I see, the point is that the kid just scammed him by paying him with his own money and before that occupied his time for free while distracting him, very clever. Kid will grow of to be good con-man.

I translated this from Italian; not copy/paste. Thats why the English is a bit shaky.
The bit at the end was a bit too much, was doubting if putting it or not. next time i' ll post a story about my life. Problem is, havn' t had anything inspiring lately.
The point is, you never really know how much you miss someone until they are gone. Its easy for people to get lost in their lives and lose prospective. And one day you wake up and realize you have been pouring yourself into work too much neglecting the other people around you. Just thought some people should remember that more often. A good film that shows either extreme side of this story is called "Sweet November" .
