Hey guys!
Yesterday's practice was awesome! Until the 16th's minute of the 3rd game..^^ First two games easy stomps not really worth mentioning but the 3rd one started to be very interesting. Picking up the Rubick,Jakiro,Kunkka tri-lane against the bounty hunter things started quite okayish and Kunkka could keep up with PL's farm. For the off-lane I picked my Broodmother up and honestly owned the shit out of them. Being able to jungle with my spiderlings from time to time and disturbing their pulls I was getting a lot of farm and was even on pair with their PL for some time. So far lanes seem to be super good. The downside? An early Magnus pick for mid was completely countered by their Brewmaster mid. Robin was losing his lane horribly preventing him from going for a lot of ganks. The game progressed and we were pulling ahead further and further until we ended up on a 5k exp and 3k gold advantage. We started pushing down towers and as far as I remember pushed both top and bot down to the tier 2 tower while defending all of our tier 1s. But I didn't give myself the nick NoLuck for no reason.. In order to salvage the mid-lane for Robin I rotated mid and Robin said we should go on the Panda and Bounty Hunter. So as German as I am I charged in sticking my little spider teeth right into Bounty Hunter's scared face when Robin realised that his RP was 10 seconds away from being ready. As if not having the RP was not enough already PL, Bane AND Leshrac came out of the jungle. Robin and me both crying for help and mercy at the same time caused Chippy and Beana to tp in to make it a happy gang bang to show the enemy team how deep we really are. Unfortunately PL's lance was too long for our deepness and when Brewmaster called his three drunken friends to join the party the sheer amount of penetration coming out of them was just too much for us. Even though the supports were showing their sad faces because they didn't have their turn everyone of them seemed to be pretty happy to make it a 1k exp advantage for them and neglecting the gold advantage completely. Well yeah..Of course we all know a PL with farm equals complete destruction so we got destroyed by them completely..
I am looking forward to today's practice though because I feel like we are really improving and when I am back from my Holiday to Play without laggs we will finally be able to start looking towards some smaller online competitions.
Again thanks a lot for reading and I will make my way to the beach now to enjoy the weather and relax a bit while reading the last book of the Shadow Cloak/Dance/Death trilogy. (Very short books but they're quite good!)
Questions? Go ahead and ask!
NoLuck out!

What is this blog about? lol? dota?
Why is it formatted so ridiculously? Hate paragraphs?
|
I think you're a perfect example of why ppl in Europe think Americans are dumb.. You already said it's a blog. So it doesn't come to your mind to read the first blog entry because MAYBE it could be explained there? I am happy I know more than enough nice and smart Americans to convince myself that the rumours are wrong..

You want people to read a thread from a month ago, which takes multiple clicks to get to, in order to know what this thread is about? That's not good posting. Don't blame my country of origin for this. Note that most blogs on tl are not one contiguous series like yours apparently is.
I also was suggesting your reconsider your formatting as it makes the blog difficult to read (and might be why the only person who has bothered to respond so far is a dumb 'american').
I think you are one of those people who should force yourself to pause and take a deep breath when you see a post you don't like.

See you can express yourself in a much better way ;D And yes I do want People to read something that has been posted several months ago. I don't kill somebody and then complain that I did not want to look at the rules because they were written down several years ago.

If you had read through my previous 18999 posts, you would know that I am capable of expressing myself much better than the 'dumb American' image you had earlier.
I really do want people to look at my post history before judging me.
+ Show Spoiler +By the way, when people make blog entries that don't make it clear what they are about, the original poster usually puts a link to an earlier blog post, since most readers won't have already read it. The burden is on you, the author, to make this thread make sense... not the reader.

So you really think just because the number next to your name is higher than mine makes you better in some way?.. A lot of posts doesn't equal a lot of good posts sir. And for the link to the first blog entry..Well..It's not that hard to click on "Blog" and then select the first blog entry is it?^^ And if it is too hard for you..Well screw you then. If people are interested in my blog then they will go and read the first post. If they're not then they're not. I mostly do this to order my own thoughts and have some Kind of "diary". If People enjoy reading this (I still don't understand why somebody would be interested in it but if people are I really appreciate it because I like feedback on my thoughts) then they should read it. I never claimed to to super fancy formating and all because I know it looks like some piece of shit. But I was never really somebody who cared about how something looks. As long as it is informational it is great.

I was simply showing that I can have unreasonable expectations for you the same way you can have them for me. Of course, my example was an extreme example to illustrate the point. Your case was less extreme than mine.
A lot of posts doesn't equal a lot of good posts sir. I generally agree with this. However, on a site like TL, people who are terrible at posting usually don't last that long. That's kinda besides the point though as I was not claiming my post count is proof that I am good at posting. You simply missed what my point was.
And for the link to the first blog entry..Well..It's not that hard to click on "Blog" and then select the first blog entry is it?^^ Not, it's certainly not that hard. However, the same can be said for you... how hard is it to actually make it clear what your OP is about or alternately provide a link to whichever of your numerous blog posts actually explains what the heck you are talking about? The burden for clarity should be on the author, not the numerous readers. My original post in this thread was not the result of me being too dumb to figure out what the deal was with the blog... it was echoing the thoughts of many of the readers. In other words, I was trying to show you that it was unclear and many of your readers would benefit from reducing such a lack of clarity of what the thread is about.
If people are interested in my blog then they will go and read the first post. If they're not then they're not. I think it's disingenuous to rope people into reading your blog by making it unclear what it is about. Be clear about what the blog is about and then let people choose whether or not to read it.
I mostly do this to order my own thoughts and have some Kind of "diary". If People enjoy reading this (I still don't understand why somebody would be interested in it but if people are I really appreciate it because I like feedback on my thoughts) then they should read it. If it was clear what I was reading from the getgo, I would have just skipped it as I don't play the genre of game you appear to be talking about.
I never claimed to to super fancy formating and all because I know it looks like some piece of shit. But I was never really somebody who cared about how something looks. As long as it is informational it is great. To use formatting like you did in the OP seriously reduces how easily it can be read. You have a responsibility to your readers to at least make an attempt to make it more easily readable.
Basically, you are coming across like a spoiled brat who is too lazy to put any effort into making your content more approachable, and blames others for your laziness. If this was your own website then I wouldn't give you a hard time about it. However, you are doing it from within a community... and one which has high expectations for new threads.
Don't get me wrong; if you want to use your blog as a diary about your exploits in Dota or whatever game you play then that should be fine. I was only pointing out that you should be clearer about what you are blogging about, and even more importantly use formatting to make it legible. I'm far from the only person who points out when improper formatting makes posts unreadable.

Magnus should win mid vs brewmaster, no?
In other news, micronesia is right the blog is poorly formatted and it isn't obvious that its a continuation of a different blog that I'm supposed to read.
|
Have to agree with micronesia, having a link to your previous blogs would be helpful. Having a lead in to what your going to talk about would be helpful.
Your previous blogs were better formatted than this.

Apparently Magnus doesn't. Robin pointed out that he was completely countered by the Brew..So far I have only seen even matchups of these two in the pro scene. To the rest: Read my first post again. I write down my thoughts. Just my plain thoughts. If I have a new one I will start a new paragraph. If not I do not start one. This post was really one big thought process flowing out of my brain therefore there are no paragraphs. And now explain me why I have to format the text for my readers? This is intentional if you don't like it don't read it. It can't be that bad because you even read it and did not stop right at the beginning. Don't get me wrong I do like feedback a LOT amd I admit that my response was way too harsh but in my opinion blogs are always continuos (however you spell that..) things unless the author is lazy and stops writing. So if you don't like the format I am sorry but this is intentional and will not change. There might be posts that are well structured (the next one might be because today's practice followed a strict plan) because my thoughts are but in general I am a very confusing personality. Anyways if you have any feedback on my actual thlughts I would be more than happy to receive them. Again sorry for my harsh responses but this is really how I always speak and is not meant to offend anyone.

Btw I will just prepare a little form for my blog so I just copy paste it and don't have to think about the whole linking my blog etc. I will post the next blog in like 3 hours and show you the new format then. If you want to I can also put a little summary of what this is all about into every blog. It is just gonna be the same everytime then.
|
Honestly just use more than one carriage return between paragraphs and everything looks better.
Tell Robin to practice if he's losing that matchup
Magnus's spam ability is cheaper, on a shorter cooldown, with more range. So he wins there. Plus he can get to runes way easier with charge (if he has to) so panda has to bottle-crow and/or guess early (generally puts the panda at a disadvantage). Then magnus can also level empower (optional) to get more auto-attack damage and free harass via splash damage.
Panda only wins on right click trades (post levels in brawler/booze, some panda's skip this entirely) which isn't what you really do as melee mids.
PS: with a magnus mid, any gank can be extremely deadly since with some setup help mag can charge the enemy mid into your tower.

No, there are way better examples than this, lol. His behaviour isn't even stereotypically american. If it didn't say that he was from the USA, I wouldn't have guessed.

Taking dumbness as typically Amercian and then exaggerating what he did. The thought behind it was "You too dumb to understand what I said in my first blog entry!" Of course it is not overly American as you can see from the rest of his comments. I was just exaggerating there. @sn0_man: I will copy and paste this post to Robin..Let's see what he says I can understand that he has problems against the Panda though because Panda's right click can be quite annoying especially with some lucky crits to force you out of the lane. I will now rewatch the game we played today (only one because I had to leave early) and then write my blog entry about today's practice.
