Yeah, i got this cool character concept.

Basically, i am kind of a scoundrel, maybe a smuggler. But i am still kind of a good person, I think i should have my own ship, maybe kind of shaped like a saucer? Though that is pretty boring, so a few extensions here and there. And i have this sidekick, some kind of alien, strong and scary. Maybe a gammorrean? Anyways, get this: The guy always speaks in some weird guttural language that noone except for me understands. I am pretty good at smuggling, i'd say my ship is really fast. Maybe some kind of bird name for it?

And then i pick up some kid and an old dude in a bar who pay me to ferry them to Alderaan.

So, when is our game set? Pre Yavin, Pre Endor, Post Endor, Old Republic, some weird other time?

I guess at the edge of the empire means we are in some fringe worlds? No Jedi, all criminals?

In that case we should talk about how we fit together, because you can't just throw 5 unrelated criminals into a room and expect them to fit together.

So, how do we fit together as a group? What do we do? Smuggling? Bounty hunting? Scamming Hutt crime lords? Raising bunnies to sell to loving families?

I am thinking about playing a young and naive Gand. I don't really know how the galaxy outside of Gand works, i accidentally insulted some guy, he pulled a blaster on me(or tried to beat me up?), and maybe one of you guys saved me? So i now follow that guy around. And you keep me around because i am really good with tech? My goal is basically to make a name for myself (literally), so following the "heroic" guy who saved me is an incredibly smart idea. And surely that guy wouldn't do anything illegal...

The system is supposed to be set post IV, but I'm thinking about a marginally earlier zimezone, so you don't just run off and join the rebellion.

The whole edge of the empire thing is apparently meant in a more metaphorical manner. You're outcasts, or at the very least so unimportant that people don't take note of you, hence at the edge of the imperial society.

I don't want to spoil too much, but it'd be nice if you guys could come up with enough backstory to justify putting all of you onto a ship at the beginning.

Some kind of small cruiser/freighter that you/we own. There actually are a lot to pick from, and most of them are pretty cool, but we'll get to that tomorrow.

So, we are basically a group of dudes in a ship. I guess we need at captain, any volunteers?

Also, we need a plan. What do we usually do, when [adventure] doesn't happen? Easiest would of course be smuggling, but also kind of limitting. We could also be Bounty hunters. Or we are an airline. Delivery company? Pirates? Groupies following some band? Flying Bar?

I kinda want to be a flying bar now, we basically fly into a system, land somewhere, sell booze, dancing happens, etc... And then we take of and never pay taxes or protection money to anyone! There could also be a bit of smuggling involved, a bit of scamming, stuff like that.

I realized I don't know much about starwars, but I think there are strange alien monsters to hunt. Although some are probably citizens. Anyway, maybe I'll be some sort of a rugged monster hunter ranger guy who is a regular at this bar. Probably quite criminal too, if needed.
